This movie is about SILK SMITHA, a sexy seductress/actress whatever from the south. No offense to her but truth be told she was always presented and portrayed in a very lewd and ''CHEAP'' manner back in the day. So being tasteful is out of the question. They actually captured her essence, her story line well in the poster. I mean it's about her not some top-fashion model or a NUN!

I am SURE that your opinion has now changed. The fact is the indian sensibilities are not the same as western. Why do people like you insist on trying to change this fact. If you are indian, then surely you should be proud of your culture instead of trying to bow down to everything that the west inhabits. Good luck in raising your daughter ;)
My opinion hasn't changed. What people like you need to understand and appreciate is that there are others who simply don't view the world in the way you do. 'Tradition' and 'Indian sensibilities' are convenient shields to hide sanctimonious and oppressive viewpoints. It doesn't make me any less Indian that I don't find this poster vulgar. Indian women have been dressing this way onscreen for decades; remember Sharmilla Helen, Zeenat, Parveen, heck even the legendary Nutan once donned a swimsuit onscreen! So spare me the patronising babble about indian culture or tradition. These are the movies for goodness sake! As for raising my daughter, I'm inclined to feel sorry for yours, who'll probably grow up ashamed of her body and conscious of what society might think of her if she dares to be confident in her own skin. Your better of worrying about your own offspring honey.

What's so bold about this? Honestly the fuss about things being vulgar/cheap/tasteless is beyond antiquated. Times change and things evolve! Think Vidya is looking sexy here (for a change!) and she and Emraan are the reason I'm going ot see this movie. Think it's going to rock. People who feel this is too much should stay back home and watch 'Roadside Romeo'.
