Alia Bhatt To Be Paired Opposite Arjun Kapoor For '2 States'?
According to TOI seems like Alia Bhatt, has landed the role in 2 States opposite Arjun Kapoor. A source close to the project said, "Karan Johar will make an official announcement about Alia being in 2 States only after SOTY hits theatres”. 2 States is the story of a north Indian boy falling for a south Indian girl and how their respective cultures influence their lives together. The film will be directed by Abhishek Verman, who was the creative director in Alia's debut film.

Deepika would have been a good choice, or even Asin. But why Alia? I mean she was just blah in SOTY.
Not a huge fan of Asin, but I do agree she would be right for this role as she is a decent actress and, more noticeably, is from the south
@ alia doesnt look like south indian girl ( and i dont mean fair skin color) aren't the examplary fair skinned ladies of bolllywood south indian .. ash, hema, tabu (much much lighter then priyanka and deepika), not sure abt anushka though. so i guess fair skin isn't inherent to the ladies of certain region. kareena is north indian after all and she is fairer then ash. skin color isn't important as long as the features and personality is beautiful.

Not PR, her die hard fans i guess. Sometimes we make a perception, but a perception is not always the truth, so i think her fans are kinda hurt to know that what they expected did not happen actually. I don't blame them, it's pretty natural, I would feel the same way they are feeling. Not a fan of Asin but i think she was a good choice for the role, better than Alia at least.

good bye to the novel I thoroughly enjoyed.India has a lot of North-South , particularly Punjabi-SI couples .I believe ppl would like to relate to the character.

What so Arjun is the lead actor now prior to that it was Ranbir.
For me best choice for the movie would be Shahid and Amrita but I know it wont happen. :(( Shahid is a punjabi and Amrita is a south girl, on top of that they complement each other beautifully will definitely be a big hit.

Deepika's age s right cos she was laready famous on ramp and page 3 fav .There has already a lot written abt her in indian tabloids. .Her wikipedia page has been around even before oso but Asin is 29 and her page did show 1982 long back ,not anymore
Deepika, Asin, PC, Kat, Kareena : all miserable glamour queens with no expressions. You telling me Aliaa is worse them them. You gotta be kidding me. If you were comparing an actress like Rani or Kajol to Aliaa then one could say, yes your right. The character in the book is fair and petite. If anyone works it might b Illeana, but Aliaa is not horrible.
And yes Deepika does look older than Arjun. It's not about the age or time in the industry. It's the look.
