Amitabh Bachchan remembers late secretary Sheetal Jain: He carried the burden of my work for almost 40 years

Amitabh Bachchan’s secretary of 35 years, Sheetal Jain passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 77. According to reports, he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Apart from being Big B’s secretary, Sheetal Jain was also the producer of the 1998 superhit film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in lead roles. The David Dhawan directorial became the second biggest hit of the year after Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Sheetal Jain’s last rites were performed at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Mumbai on Saturday evening which was attended by Sr Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Recently, Big B took to his personal blog to remember his secretary and wrote: “He carried the burden of my work for almost 40 years .. gentle, diligent, humble and the picture of sincerity and honesty .. today I carried him to his last journey .. Sheetal Jain my Manager, Secretary through thick and thin , passed away this morning after a short but severe battle in Hospital .. and flashes of his association through these 40 years , as a member of the family swept by .. His dedication and devotion to his work ..”

Amitabh Bachchan shared a photo where he, along with Abhishek, is carrying Sheetal’s last remains. He continued to write: “A simple man .. and his gratitude for any favour that we did for him was supreme .. They do not make people like him any more .. there is a vacuum now in my working office and in our functioning ..”
