On Thursday, Deepika Padukone unveiled her wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London. The wax statue features Padukone's Cannes look of 2018. The actress was accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh and her parents Prakash Padukone, Ujjala Padukone and her in-laws Jagjit and Anju Bhavnani. The actress looked very happy and also posed along with her wax statue and clicked selfies, pictures and videos. As seen in the pics, Ranveer was smitten by his wifey and also her wax statue.

While talking to Hindustan Times, the Piku actress shared her thoughts on her wax statue at Madame Tussauds. She said that the direction in which the world is moving, everyone is connected with one another but having messengers of hope is also quite important. DP said that we need people that inspire and remain honest.

"Ever since I was a little girl, the question I always asked myself was, ‘What is my purpose behind what I am doing?’ I am extremely fortunate and privileged and I have worked hard as a human being to get to this place today and, through films, have the ability to touch and influence people’s lives. I value that a lot and I think it’s very important," stated the actress.

Deepika said that when the opportunity came to her which decided to honour her, she questioned her purpose as to what she was doing and what was her contribution. A voice inside her head said that she would like to be the 'Statue of Purpose' so that when people come to see her statue, they will be a reminder of someone who had some sort of impact on the society.

On celebrating and living this proud moment with her family members, she said, " It’s a nostalgic moment in a way because the first and last time I ever went there was as a little girl with my family. Just yesterday, when we were having lunch together, my mother said that she came here 35 years ago and she never imagined that she will have a daughter who will someday make it to the Madame Tussauds. We are here together as a family and it feels surreal."

On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be working in Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak which also stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role.

aio, she takes herself too seriously, i cant think of a single person that will pose with the statue thinking, "I am posing with a woman of purpose" . She's a famous goodlooking actress. Thats her claim to fame, no shame in that and that's the reason people will click a photo with her statue.

statue with purpose?
