Earlier, I created a post on Aditya Roy Kapoor as the male lead of Ashiqui 2. People had a slight discussion over how it's unfair of the production home to all the contestants who auditioned for the roles as Bhatts had promised to launch new faces. But that did not happen with the male lead. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and waiting to see who they will choose as the female lead and it's none other than, Shraddha Kapoor.

In an interview, Shraddha confirmed her role in Ashiqui 2.

Many contestants were saying that the Bhatts' "talent hunt" was meant for publicity and someone even created a post on Pinkvilla regarding that a couple of months ago. What do you guys feel about this?

Bollywood will never change..its like the only new stars are always foreign girls who get a good opportunity but wate it anyways cos they are not talented, also ashiqui 2 have to do with ashiqui 1? the latter was made many years ago and the main characters most likely wont be in part 2!

Oh no! No offense to Shraddha or Aditya but that really sucks for all the struggling actors that auditioned, now it just looks like a big scam or a publicity stunt! Booo Bhatts, boooooo!

I feel for you man. Why don't you join a MORE professional industry - like theatre or something? Its so sad to see that talented ppl like Manoj Bajpai and Ashutosh Rana dont get their due. They deserve meatier roles than these Kapoor types.

I really agree with you. Bollywood has become cheap, trashy. Zero talent. Zero music and ZERO PLOT. I don't watch 80% of the movies that come out...and I've decided not to support these white chicks like KAtrina kaif, Nargis, etc etc because IT IS THE ULTIMATE EXAMPLE OF SELF-HATING. I really don't understand where this industry is headed....down the sewage I suppose.

I agree with a lot of people venting against this whole campaign. I know someone who auditioned for it and I'm sure like him, most people who auditioned invested a lot of time to practise their monologues, the song sequence, etc. It's definitely not a matter of just a few hours. More importantly, it gave many people hope of that ONE chance he/she might get. If the production home did this for the sake of publicity, then that is being way too low for just bit of fame/advertisement.

Actually! Auditions are not bad . There are some people who r good at wrk and also very good looking. If bhatts would have groomed them. They might wuld huv got some praises . YRF always launch newcomers and live upto their words. Mahesh bhatt is the BIGGEST PYSCO liar in the world. Even sonali nigrani has said he promised her role for zeher but didnt live upto his word. MAHESH BHATT IS THE BIGGEST LIAR IN THE INDUSTRY!!

Weird starcast its a big flop.. How goes to cinema and spend 300 bucks to watch supporting actors doing a big hit movie sequel.. Epic fail!

Anonymous's picture

FILM IS GONNA B BIG FLOP.. IF BHATT DOESNT LIVE UPTO HIS WORDS THEN WE SHOULD ALSO NOT WATCH HIS MOVIE AND LIVE UPTO OUR WORDS

Anonymous's picture

Sorry! both main leads lacks looks. They r so even below compare to contestans..

This film will b superflop i can guarantee you tat . Bhatts huv dug a big hole for themselves. The cast they choose is not even appealing in looks acting is the second part. Personally, there were contestants like karan wahi, mickey modey, sanket chaukse even saud khan how was way better in looks compare to lead male and even girl were 1000 times better than shraddha kapoor like mahro mehboob, harpreet kaur a few no name. I doubt even if bhatts huv looked at the auditions. Its sad how ppl play with just anyones feeling . Is film ko itne contestants ki baduah lage gi keh yeh buri tarah flop ho gi yeh meri dua hai khuda se!

Why don't you guys sue them?

filmychica's picture

They pretend they want actual ''TALENTS'' but reality, it's all about NARCISSISM, backscratching.. no wonder most of BW is lacking originality and loosing it's appeal.

These industry folks are eager to jump on the bandwagon and grab a gori / white or mixed girl irrelevant of her actual 'acting' background. Doesn't matter then, she can be part of a big budget film. But in these films, they are 'afraid' to give a newcomer outside of the industry an opportunity.

My question is how will you grow? How will you discover all the young talents that our country has to offer if you guys are just SHEEPS? Pathetic! No offense to Aditya/Shraddha but it's the filmmakers/producers and even our janta as times that piss me off. :( cheee

Boycott the film guys..don't watch it! This is ridiculous!!

Anonymous's picture

people can go to any length for publicity....public should ban this bhatt's movie...makin fool out of public...yuckk

Despicable. I was one of the auditioners. It's been a dream of mine for years to act in Bollywood... and to create a seemingly fair contest (legal contract and all), fool thousands, all for a publicity stunt... I know I will never watch a Bhatt film again, nor will I see a film directed by Mohit Suri or produced by Bhushan Kumar. In fact, I will be boycotting T Series and will not purchase any of their products. We can show them that we are not to be toyed with.

I would have understood and accepted if the producers/director had decided AFTER FULLY conducting the talent hunt (completing the screen test) that they wanted to cast Aditya and Shradda. But they didn't even give anyone the chance they legally agreed they would give.

So screw 'em. Please post Pinkvilla.
