Call him a dancer par excellence or a versatile actor who impresses us every single time he appears on the screen, actor Hrithik Roshan has aced every film genre since he fluttered our hearts in his debut film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. Hrithik Roshan turns 44 today and it's been almost 19 years since the actor made his debut but even today Hrithik can give young actors a run for their money. The actor's good looks and insane dancing skills have often led to female fans going weak in the knees.

Hrithik, who is often described as 'India's most complete actor', has given one chartbuster track after another and he manages to take it to a completely new level with his dance moves. In just his first film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Hrithik stood out in the film and made the hook step of 'EK Pal ka Jeena' a sensation. Then came the film offers and one hit song after another. Be it his steely performance in Agneepath or the over-the-top romantic he played in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Hrithik has always given us a reason to look forward to his movies.  Here we take a look at the movies that put Hrithik Roshan as an actor under the spotlight.

Kaabil: Hrithik's latest film was Kaabil in 2017 opposite Yami Gautam. The film turned out to be a surprise and did well at the box office than expected. Hrithik played the role of a visually challenged dubbing artist who avenges the rape of his wife Yami Gautam. Hrithik impressed movie buffs and critics alike with his acting skills and for making the character seem so believable.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara: Zoya Akhtar's ZNMD with Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Hrithik made us believe that life indeed is short and we got to live it to the fullest. We rooted for Hrithik aka Arjun Saluja to fall in love with his diving instructor Laila aka Katrina Kaif. Hrithik effortlessly pulled off the workaholic Arjun and portrayed his fear for deep sea diving with much conviction.

Agneepath: In this remake of the 1990 film, Hrithik played the lead role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan along with Sanjay Dutt. The movie went on to become a blockbuster hit. Hrithik played the role of an 'angry young man' to perfection.

Koi Mil Gaya: In an offbeat role of sorts, Hrithik found himself playing the role of a mentally challenged kid in Koi Mil Gaya in 2003. Hrithik was not only applauded for his performance as Rohit but was loved by the young and old alike. It is said that Hrithik apparently revived his career with this movie after a spate of flops such as Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, it also established the Krrish franchise and gave India its first superhero.

Lakshya: Released in 2004, this Indian-war drama saw Hrithik Roshan in the most relatable role ever. His character of young aimless boy turning into an established army officer was worth watching on the silver screen.

Guzaarish: Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the audiences witnessed Hrithik in a never seen before role. Even though the film tanked at the box office, Hrithik proved his acting mettle with his portrayal of a paralyzed magician-turned-Radio jockey.

Jodhaa Akbar: This period drama saw Hrithik as the mighty Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar romancing Rajput princess Jodhaa Bai. The Ashutosh Gowariker film went on to win quite a few awards. However, Ashutosh's second outing with Hrithik in Mohenjadaro with Pooja Hegde tanked massively at the box office.

Dhoom 2: Hrithik Roshan's character of Mr A was not only entertaining but rather gripping on the silver screen. In this action thriller, Hrithik essayed the role of a perfect thief with his chiselled body and groovy moves.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham: Hrithik stood out in this ensemble cast with his role as 'Ladoo' aka Rohan Raichand. His chemistry with Kareena Kapoor aka Poo was unmissable and is remembered even to this day.

Kaho Na Pyaar Hai: How can this list be incomplete without a mention of Hrithik's debut film. The actor not only won awards but the film back then became one of the highest grossers at the box office. Hrithik indeed made his presence felt and in ways informed Bollywood that he had arrived and how.

Hrithik is now prepping for Vikas Bahl’s Super 30 which is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30. The film is set to release this year and we cannot wait to see the actor light up the silver screen. Here's wishing the actor a very Happy Birthday.
