Heroine Opens Well - Highest number for any female driven film
Heroine opened well at the box office with collections around 55-60% at multiplexes. The film will come out with a pretty good first day number and by far the highest for a film driven by a heroine. The first day number of Heroine will be much bigger than any other film where the main face value was the female lead. The wide release also gives potential to collect but a lot depends on how well the single screens actually collect.

i saw heroine and the first 15 minutes was normal kareena acting but then something changed and she gave SUCH a powerhouse performance...i would say kareena was better than priyanka and vidya
but i have to say fashion is a better movie only because of kangana
Time to set the record straight!
1. The Dirty Picture's opening > Heroine's opening. TDP opening day 10 crores net, Heroine 7.5 crores net. TDP 1500-1600 screens, Heroine 2400 screens. Heroine Kareena Kapoor (so-called No. 1 actress, I'd say she's just been a prop for the Khans), TDP Vidya Balan (no film with any Khan yet, 3 Super hits in a row!)
2. Kahaani's protagonist a pregnant woman, no item numbers/dances, totally de-glam, no Randeep Hooda, no Arjun Rampal, NO MASALA, NO HERO! Such films aren't expected to make 60 crores but it did. We'll see how much Heroine makes. I thought, looking at the genre and the wide release, it might even reach 100 crores. It seems even 50 crores would be tough, SAD!
3. TDP: Vidya's film, totally! And talking about the Emraan Hashmi factor, well he's no KHAN! His last film Shanghai, before Raaz 3, was a major flop -- just 12 crores in its OPENING WEEKEND! Raaz 3, it's a franchise so it's bound to make more money, with or without Emraan Hashmi. Raaz 1 was one of the biggest hits of that year without Emraan and well, I hope you won't say Dino Morea was ever a box office success factor :p
So people, even if you are Kareena's fans, please be realistic. Heroine has FAILED to impress the critics and the masses. Understandably, it isn't rocking and nothing's going to change!

The Dirty Picture and Raaz 3 both have Emraan Hashmi has a Saleable actor!!! Hes the one who helped to pull the crowd to the theaters!!! Remember kahaani??? without Emraan it collected 2 crore something and I dont even like to mention Bipasha!! thats what Box office in talking about!!! you know what if Emraan was in Arjun place then it would have done more than 10 crore definately!!! So please stop bringing The Dirty Picture and Raaz 3 comparing with Heroine!!! thats just foolish

But the tittle of this article is - Highest number for any female driven film .
TDP and Raaz 3 had Emran hashmi , but he wasn't the main actor there, it wasn't a male driven film like Jannat. They were also female driven films . Emraan had a side role. Put Salman/SRK in any side role in a movie, those wont get the 15-20 crore openings like the movies which SRk/Salman have have when they are the main lead. And just Emraan hashmi's name cannot guarantee you a good opening, Dil To Bacha Hai didn't have a great opening.
Hence, heroine does not have the highest opening number for any female driven film. It has opened well and will make 45-50 crore , but the opening isn't proportionate with the publicity, hype, controversies around this movie
Clearly the people operating this site are bias and untruthful, just to pull in the numbers for Heroine. sadly, heroine failed to make an impact. With the amount of promotion that was done and the number of screen released being 2400, collecting 7 crores on its opening day is NOT GOOD, and there has not been a drastic increase in collection on Saturday, just about 1 crore more than Friday, which is not good at all. Heroine has a budget of 35 crores, sadly the Film is a huge disappointment.
Buts lets not forget the reason why this film got a highest opening for a female driven movie is because films like Fashion, The Dirty Picture, Kahani paved the way. Not to mention the movies was hyped since the shooting began, and how can i forget the controveries. In addition to that the amount of promotion for the film. Kareena hasn't promoted any of her other films as much as she did for this one. Before you guys all start to jump down my throat I absolutely loved Kareena's performance in Heroine. And to say i'm not a Kareen fan i still blown back by her performance.

To the no. 1 heroine of our time - Kareena Kapoor!
Kareena's acting in this film is superb...the film in average...but her acting is outstanding, she deserves all the praise.I wasn't expecting much from her because I dont like her acting style in Jub We Met and 3idiots but in heroine she is mind blowing....and gorgeous.
Dirty Pic released in half the number of screens as Heroine released and managed to make 9.5Cr on opening day.
With 2400 screens Heroine made only 7Cr or 7.5Cr.
Its disasterous.
The budget of Heroine is 32Cr according to wikipedia, but according to Madhur it is 35Cr.
And critics has rejected the movie and audiences gave mixed to negative reports.
Especially on social networking sites, they are making jokes out of Heroine and commenting on how boring it is.
So, Word of Mouth is negative. The movie will make maximum around 25Cr by Monday and then its over. HEROINE is below average or flop. Sure.
Because, the budget is 32Cr to 35Cr.
Also, Barfi's 2nd week Friday collection is 4.5Cr.
Just 3Cr less than Heroine's opening collection (7.5Cr).
In anyways, Audience has accepted Barfi with all their heart and soul (Though few scenes are inspired, the story is Anurag's own and only his, and performances are the Best ever).
So clearly audiences has rejected Heroine.
A movie releasing in 2400Screens should atleast make 12.5Cr on its opening Friday to be a Hit. Heroine is way below that. Accept the fact people.

I will say one thing if Aish had done this movie..I assure you it would have made more than 4 crores...remember Action Replay LOL and btw Aishs PR are working full time to trash movie...but you know what people are actually appreciating the movie.....so get lost
I am going to watch only for Bebo's performance. I heard she gave award winning performance!!!! twitter was filled with tweets praising her!!!! well I loved madhurs previous works too. so I dont care about critics!!!!

Kareena was truly awesome! I'm her fan but I neve really though she was that good of an actress but she proved me wrong in Heroine!
Heroine opening isn't the largest number for any female driven movie, its opening is 7.5 crore, while TDP was 10.5 crore, Bipasha 's Raaz 3 opening was also around 10.5 crore.And Raaz 3 wan't even promoted as much as heroine, and had a less popular heroine : bipasha carrying the movie on her shoulders
Also TDP and Raaz3 had less screens compared to heroine. Yes, Heroines opening is better then Fashion's, but that is not a big deal considering all the hype around it, the promotion and ticket prices have also increased much more since 2008.
it may go up to 8-10 crores on Saturday-Sunday, but considering the over expectations from this movie and bad word of mouth, it will fall on Monday.
Also Box office India is partial to its favorite stars, like Kareena and the Khans. Every time they are the firsts to update numbers about the opening, but now it has been a day and still they are not posting the first day numbers for this movie . Other websites are telling correctly about the opening day collections

Heroine was so good! All the references and shades to other actors in the industry was awesome. Kareena plays real life Priyanka Chopra in the film. She is known for having affairs with married men and has an affair with a superstar (aka SRK) who is married and has two children. Another actress, who represents Katrina, had a whole passport scene lol. I had so much fun watching the film with the audience. Everyone was screaming, yelling, cheering, and clapping. Really great entertaining film. Don't take it too seriously. Kudos to Kareena and Madhur.

OMG I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who noticed all the real life references in the film. The whole Katrina Kaif passport thing was hilarious. The audience was even laughing. Everyone got it! Also everyone knows who Kareena was playing (PC). THE GIRL WHO HAS AFFAIRS WITH MARRIED MEN lol. And She was recently having an affair with a married SUPERSTAR who everyone knows. The superstar's wife is also a interier designer hahaha. The whole wine spilling scene and Preity Zinta hooking up with a business man and buying an IPL team lol. Loved loved loved the movie. Pretty much every single actor is in it without being in it *wink*

totally true i watched the movie in mumbai and the audience started to clap as soon as Kareena made an entry then for her item song. The Katrina ref was so true and hilarious the whole theater was laughing and knew who the context was referring to...this movie also exposes SRK and gauri's relationship (how fake his happy marriage is) and PC of course. To some extend when Mahi (kareena) gets sidelined and she hires a PR to re-brand her. It reminded me of salman khan bcoz at some point the industry had out-casted him for being insane and fighting with ash. i could also see a zarine khan in the party scene. After seeing the movie i feel happy that i dont work in BW (in any job what so ever even as a PR). It so scary and harsh industry to work with. it just doesnt allow u to stay normal. Now wonder actresses are so , so moody. Now i also know the secrete behind katrina's success despite no talents. Good PR and she definitely gives these guys what they need..including new-comer RK.

Congrats to Kareena! BoxOfficeIndia confirmed that Heroine had the highest grossing opener for a movie starring a heroine! The HEROINE of Bollywood, ladies and gentleman :)
I'm so happy I got to see the film! Theater was full and the crowd was very energetic. I have a new found respect for her as an actress. She was so brave for playing such a bold, daring, and hardcore role. Especially something that involves lesbianism. I can't see any other actress pulling that off. I'm still shocked by her performance. This film is a pure masala entertaiment with a heroine, not a hero. Bollywood, take note.
I almost didn't watch this movie because of all the negative talk about the film here but I'm so glad my friend dragged me. It was such a different film. You rarely ever see this kind of film in Hindi cinema. I was blown away by Kareena. She has guts to do everything she did in this film. The whole lesbian scene... I don't know where she got the courage to do such a complex role. We all clapped for her at the end of the film. She is the true heroine of Bollywood and thus proves it in this film.
Horrible pacing by Madhur. Had great dialogues but didn't showcase the film properly. Kareena saved the film.
