If there is one film that has caught the nation’s attention this morning, it is Vicky Kaushal starrer Bhoot: Part One- The Haunted Ship. The announcement of the film was made this morning and it will also star Bhumi Pednekar in a special cameo. However, the title of the film is the same as Ram Gopal Varman’s 2001 film, Bhoot which starred Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn. Thus, before using the title, producer Karan Johar sought approval from Ram Gopal Varma.

While the poster and concept of the film are different, it is in the same genre of horror as RGV’s film. When the film’s concept came to Karan, he was keen on having Bhoot as the title of the film. Hence, he reached out to RGV and asked him if he could use the title for his horror franchise. Well, the ace filmmaker graciously consented and eventually the film was titled Bhoot: Part One-The Haunted Ship.

To thank Ram Gopal Varma, Karan said, “I made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror.” Well, the stills and poster of the film surely have created a lot of buzz among the youth who are looking forward to the film.

Meanwhile, the film has been shot in parts of Gujarat and is backed by Dharma Productions and Shashank Khaitan who are jointly producing the film. Bhoot is helmed by a debutante director, Bhanu Pratap Singh who is also the one behind the script of the film. Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar’s Bhoot: Part One-The Haunted Ship will hit the screens on November 15, 2019.

Another flop series being produced by Karan Johar lol.

It was a 2003 film. Poor research and the quality of writing is going down by the day. Why PV why?

Ram Gopal Verma is not as bad as Karan thinks he is and he proved his point that he is the bigger man.
