Kareena Kapoor Back in Ram Leela!
Yes, you heard it right! According to celebrity blogger Miss Malini, after going back and forth with choices for his leading lady, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finalised Kareena Kapoor. After Bebo opted out of the project couple of weeks ago, he went to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone and auditioned them for the role. But since SLB is a major perfectionist, he wasn't entirely happy with the result. He apparently spent sleepless nights worrying about the future of this project if he didn’t find the right leading lady for his modern day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. A few days ago he reached out to Kareena again, apologising for his earlier behavior and checking if she was still willing to do the film. Touched by his gesture, Bebo finally agreed and is now confirmed for Ram Leela.

Ruchi, this topic is about the casting of Ram Leela, and to my knowledge Aishwarya was not a part of the project. Posting pics of Aishwarya here and comparing her post-childbirth pics to Kareena is irrelevant. If Aishwarya was trying out for the role some months back when these pics were snapped then the pics would be relevant. SLB himself has compared Ram Leela to HDDCS, but the post-childbirth pics posted by "bwood" as well as the silly comment about her being 50+ years old is absurd. "bwood" would not want to compare pics of today's Kareena with Aishwarya's Nandini, for obvious reasons. Anyway like I said I would prefer Deepika for the role but we will just have to wait and see! What does SLB have to say about all of this?

@ "bwood" OH PLEASE right back at ya... I know you're obsessed with Aishwarya and all, but media reported that the role went to Kareena and Deepika, NOT Aishwarya. By your skewed calculations, Aishwarya would be 50 years old. How come no one who knows Aishwarya and went to school with her, grew up with her, etc, has revealed that she is 50 years old? How come her OLDER brother does not look anywhere over 50 years old? And how come you're putting up photoshopped pics of Kareena released from a film shoot next to a post-childbirth pic of a woman who never even signed the film? How is that relevant to the topic? Just because you are obsessed with Aishwarya doesn't make every topic about her... you even created this "special" ID dedicated to spewing nonsense about her (because as we all know, anons can't include photos in their posts). Anyway, according to Kareena's logic and Kareena's math, Deepika is one generation younger than Kareena. So yes Deepika is the better choice in every way!

In Hollywood, no actress who has passed the age of 25 would be considered for the role of Juliet unless she has the ability to look like a teenager. Kate Winslet auditioned for the Claire Danes role in the 1996 film 'Romeo + Juliet' and was turned down for being too old for the part. She was 20-years-old at the time.

Oh please aish was already 35 years when she start her bollywood career after doing modeling in 80's. Kareena looks very youthful and fresh with flawless complexion and line free neck.
kareena can easily pass for aish's teenage daughter.

kareena may be petite and fair skinned but she looks really aged now. If she looked like she did during her "Refugee" days, then she would be a perfect match for Juliette.
Why can't these directors get fresh, new, YOUNG lady rather than always casting the same 3-4 women in every film? it gets so boring.

auditioning usually means going thru a "look test". All actors have to go through look tests. Whether they are A-listers or C-listers!

Even A listers do auditions. That's the right way to cast for a film. That's the way they do it in Hollywood for all the films. The so called A-lister is a joke if she can't emote her lines like some of our actresses.

Shazahn Padamsee is teenage looking like Shradha Kapoor.

Deepika was also a good choice, I was excited to see her in a different role.
But its completely fair for SLB as well to choose Kareena, bcoz she is a versatile actress and can fit into any role these days! Cant deny the fact she does act btr than Deepika, & for such a "good" & "huge" project, it was not SLB's time to take risk with Deepika!
Though, I think Deepika's face suited Ram-Leela more... she has tht classical face, which we saw in OSO!
