Late Rajesh Khanna's House May Be Turned Into a Museum

A close friend informed that the late actor's wish was for his house to be converted into a museum bearing his clothes, trophies, cars, and other memorabilia. Both his daughters are well settled and they don't want his property. However, it is upto them if they want to convert the house into a museum after all. If this happens, this would be the first time in India that a Bollywood star's house will be converted into a museum.

Spread by whomever. But i hope they agree to convert Rajesh Khanna's house into a museum. I would love to visit that place when I visit. Just to think, such a superstar resided in that place, embraced those things. wow. I would love it. Hope they do change it plus it was his wish.

This museum news is spread by the family itself ! And it has been done to just avoid the media scrutiny ! I am damn sure they will fight for this house in the future ! A bungalow that too in Bandra !! A museum??? And the family thinks we are fools !! We very well know why the estranged Dimple came to do all that ''seva'' when his health started deteriorating !! RIP Rajesh Khanna !!

ya i agree with some comments below... making a house in to a museum is not a good idea... Rajesh khanna should have perhaps donated the house if he wanted to do something for people but ofcrse thats not the case, he just wanted to be remembered forever which is not wrong but i think if anyone has the right to decide about the house, then its their family... dont we all feel good if our parents give us a share of a house or wouldnt we do the same for our children.. how many people can donate a house ... ive seen none... then y should Rajesh Khanna be an exception and donate his house..

coffeeandcake - whya re tyou so bitter towards celebs? Just let it be. You don't have to alwayssss post negative comments on every article. The man just passed away, atleast dont talk nonsense out of respect. If celebs are richa dn have huge houses and what not, thats good for them. I'm sure you wouldnt be donating all your money if you had multi millions. Dude, whether you are not so rich, or a multi millionaire - everyone loves their money. You cant be expecting everyone to be donating their money or whatever. Its their money, their life, they are entitled to do whatever the hell they want. Just like you are.
Soo when you earn tons of money and have a huge bank balance, go ahead and donate it and use it for charity and everything. It a noble thought that you have, but you cant expect everyone to have tht same thinking and you cant criticise them for it either. It their life man, they can do whatever they want.

another one with deficient english comprehension skills. i don't care what he does with his money, i am talking about the idea of him wanting a museum built for him being a total exercise in self--aggrandizement and narcissism. there have been many other MUCH MORE important people who died, who did not decide to make their homes museums. even if he throws his house away, i dont care, the orphanage was only a suggestion...but i find the museum idea ludicrous

nice looking house

He was a charismatic actor, good looking, bollywood legend and all that..But the ones that really make their mark in history are the ones that show compassion for their fellow human beings. 3 decades from now, no one will remember him.
RIP Mr. Khanna. No disrespect meant..just stating the obvious.

Beautiful mansion.

Movies are entertainment with some message/moral thrown in based on who is the director.
Rajesh khanna's movies entertain us, and hold our attention till the end. He was indeed a talented and great star. Visiting his Museum would be like going into a Dream world of the Characters he played in his wonderful movies.

It is better than wasting millions on movies that don't serve the society or add value to the movie industry.
I would definitely visit the museum if this news ever comes true. It would be fun and I love his cute smile and face, especially in movies like Aradhana, Anand..

i like the idea of an orphanage. he must have been a highly vain / narcissistic person to want to have it made into a museum of him only. like one of the celebs tweeted yesterday, no one cared when he was alive, it seems as if he is more newsworthy dead. so i don't foresee tons of people thronging to pay admission to go to his museum
**********************************
Why don't you turn your house into an orphanage and let us live in this highly vain world. Look at you passing judgement about Rajesh Khanna.....For Shame!
-----------------------------------------------------------
dude i don't have a fraction of all the riches of khannas and kumar - i don't even own a house let alone leave one to an orphanage lol. i just find it amusing to think that there are people will pay to attend a museum devoted to only one single person, and that too, the person is rajesh khanna who was all but forgotten before his death.

---------------

Please keep your wierd comment to yourself.. when YOU think you can do it, THEN come and talk about others.. He was an orphan himself.. btw.

And just because you dont care about him doesnt mean others dont. There are STILL many people who love him.. me for example, I am not even Indian and I love him to death.

OMA! Nabby! You gave me the BEST news ever!!

I was juuust thinking and getting scared, that.. what if they break his dream home and make apartment complexes??

I would petition for it to become a museum and would LOVE to go there InshaAllah

@coffeeandcake, sadly people who are not on screen all the time, regardless of the kind of work they have done, they are "forgotten" by the common man. If he wants to make a museum out of it, then so be it. I don't think that a man's only wish in this life is to do social services (which if he wanted to would be amazing) but even if he doesn't, it's all good.

Anonymous's picture

due respect to Rajesh Khanna ..god bless his soul. the idea of turning his house into a museum , no matter who wanted it him or anyone else is quite silly.

Anonymous's picture

Umm,yeah, lets see you turn your house into an orphanage. Talk is cheap.

the house will be for sale before his ashes have time to cool. Amrita pritam's house was sold although she has made a tremendous contribution to india' s litterary field.

People don't go to museum's based on one person, once all the Mumbai highfi's have seen it, the won't go again.
Better to turn it into Orphanage home like Mr. India did :).

Yes They do. If that one person is hugely popular with massive fan following. They do it abroad. this way you preserve art and culture.

You will be surprised how many people would want to do that. fans would love it.

Anonymous's picture

Why not. Totally. In London they do this. Convert celebs, pop singer and past legends homes in museum where fans come and be part of the memory. Awesome go for it.
Aashirwad is Rajesh Khanna's property and if he wishes it be convert into a museum then so be it. Nobody should force there own thoughts on it.
Imagine your house be converted into something other than what you want.

Anonymous's picture

that would be awesome!!

I really hope they make it into a museum....I am one of his diehard fans.

Pinkvilla_boy's picture

Awesome idea IMO

Anonymous's picture

Only Rajesh Khanna can make a wish like this. He was very much in love with himself. But Sir.. you will still go down as a very important figure in the film industry even though there is a museum or not.

like mumtaz mahal asked for a monument before she died.

rajesh khanna asked for something which will keep him alive centuries to come!

Anonymous's picture

It's a great idea. I hope his family will give it a careful thought.

Anonymous's picture

I wish they do, I will be sure to visit it. I am still enchanted by his charisma!
