Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti has refuted the rumours claiming that he has finalized the Mission Mangal star Akshay Kumar for the remake of Tamil film titled Kaththi.

Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti has refuted the rumours claiming that he has finalized his Mission Mangal star Akshay Kumar for remake of the Tamil film titled Kaththi. This film had proved to be a blockbuster hit at the box office. The Mission Mangal director says that he has almost finished work on Ikka with respect to the writing part. But, no actor has been roped in yet to essay the lead role. Director Jagan Shakti helmed the film, Mission Mangal which has Akshay Kumar in the lead.

The film has a dynamic star cast. The film has talented stars like Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen playing crucial roles in the film. Jagan Shakti is currently looking forward to the release of his film called Mission Mangal, which is due to release on August 15 on the eve of Independence Day. There was a strong buzz that the Mission Mangal has brought on board Akshay Kumar to play the lead in the upcoming film Ikka which is a remake of Tamil film called Kaththi. Jagan Shakti while speaking to PTI, that the casting for the film is in process, no actors have been roped in for the film.

Jagan further added that the film's writing work is almost getting done, but the lead actors are not yet finalized. Jagan Shakti states that Akshay Kumar is also busy with his other films. The original Tamil film called Kaththi was helmed by director AR Murugadoss. This film had Vijay played the lead role. As per reports, Jagan Shakti is also working on a film which is expected to be a science fiction.
