Parineeti Chopra kick-started her Bollywood career with Ladies vs Ricky bahl opposite Ranveer Singh and later, she featured in films such as Ishaqzaade, Shuddh Desi Romance, Hasee Toh Phassee, Daawat-e-Ishq, Kill Dill and Meri Pyaar Bindu, among others and while some films worked at the box office, majority of Pari’s films bombed. And in such a case, it is only natural for an actor to feel upset and depressed and that is exactly what happened with Parineeti back in 2014. During an interview, Parineeti opened up about the worst phase of her life as she said, that in the year 2015, two of her films, Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil didn’t work and after that setback, suddenly she didn’t have money and since she had bought a house and done big investments, she was in a dilemma. Moreover, Parineeti says, “I went through a big heartbreak in my life. Literally all departments in my life were down and I had nothing positive to look forward to.”

Such was her life that she retreated ‘into a shell’ and as a result, she stopped eating, sleeping well, didn’t have any friends at that time and cut off touch with everyone including her family. “I would talk to them once in two weeks. I was gone. I just used to be in my room, watching TV, sleeping, getting up, staring all day. I was a zombie. I was typical filmy depressed girl. I would curl up on my sofa and sleep, falling ill all the time. I didn’t meet the media for almost six months,” informed Parineeti. However, during the bad phase, Parineeti reveals that she could rely upon a couple of people like her brother- Sahej as she used to only speak to him every single day. “He would stay with me and help me out. There was my friend Sanjana. We spoke a lot and became closer in that year. She helped me so much. I would cry maybe 10 times a day. I was always crying and upset. I had chest pain that would not go out of my body. I’ve never felt actual clinical depression,” said Parineeti. But post 2016, Parineeti reveals that things started getting better as she started working on herself, became fitter, and signed a couple of films such as Golmaal (4), (Meri Pyari) Bindu.

But like they say, all’s well that ends well and currently, Parineeti is busy with the promotions of Jabariya Jodi opposite Sidharth Malhotra and the film is slated to release on August 9. Next up, she will be seen in the biopic on badminton player Sania Nehwal and she has already started shooting for the remake of The Girl on the Train.
