Bollywood and the formula of patriotism when mixed together does wonders, for example, Uri: The Surgical Strike being the recent one. On the occasion of Army Day, Sushant Singh Rajput took to social media to share a teaser from his upcoming film Rifleman, in which he will play a soldier. The film scheduled for release later in 2019. He tweeted, “An advancing enemy. A border to protect. 1 Braveheart. #RIFLEMAN. On the occasion of Army Day, excited to announce my next film.” A report in DNA has divulged more details about Sushant’s role in the movie.

The movie is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Rawat. He was one of the Indian famous riflemen who went up against 300 enemy soldiers all by himself. He is considered the hero of Sino-India War in 1962. Rawat also received the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously. Jaswant Singh's display of valour and his love for his nation has been an inspiration for all the Indian soldiers ever since. Sushant is all set to bring the story of Jaswant Singh Rawat on the big screen. According to the source quoted by the daily, Sushant has been researching on the man for a while now.

“This film has been in the works for quite some time. Sushant has been silently researching on the man and finally, now, they are putting everything in place. It’s expected to go on floors after he wraps up pending work on his other two films — Kizie Aur Manny and Chhichhore. It is being readied for a late 2019 release,” the source said.

Sushant was last seen opposite Sara Ali Khan in Kedarnath. He will be seen playing a rebel dacoit in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya, which releases on 8 February 2019, and in Mukesh Chhabra’s Kizie Aur Manny, an adaptation of John Green’s bestselling novel The Fault In Our Stars.
