Yesterday, social media was abuzz with pictures of Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Rohit Shetty, Karan Johar and others posing for, in what can be termed, as the selfie of 2019. Because it was not just any other selfie from just any B-town party but a selfie with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. That’s right! As soon as the galaxy of stars was snapped at the Mumbai airport, Pinkvilla had learnt that PM Modi has called upon the young stars to meet him in Delhi. “Modi will be discussing what they think about India as an evolving country. How they think the industry can evolve? How their films are impacting the Indian culture and basically talk about their views on cinema and what changes they want to see,” we were informed.

Soon after their meeting, social media was buzzing with pictures of Narendra Modi posing for selfies with the stars. From Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana to Vicky Kaushal and others, everyone took to their social media channels to share and perhaps, flaunt a picture with the Prime Minister. But amidst all the pictures, it was Simmba director Rohit Shetty’s picture with the Prime Minister that caught our fancy because alongside the picture, the caption read, “Quite a cool feeling when The Prime Minister himself appreciates you for making films on the Police Force @narendramodi.” Well, besides the junta ka verdict, isn’t it amazing to be appreciated by the Prime Minister himself for your films and well, we can only imagine Rohit’s euphoric state of mind.
