Discrimination on the basis of one's colour is a burning topic and this social evil is not only in India but across the world. Many Bollywood celebs have turned down whopping endorsement deals of fairness products. And now, Mid-Day's report claims that Bollywood's popular filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is apparently making a movie on the same and will tackle the social nuisance. As per the same reports, the final draft of the movie is already what they are working on.

A source filmmaker-producer told Mid-Day, "Bhansali is keen to launch a fresh face with the film to make it more relatable. He is in talks with a few directors, but hasn't zeroed in on one yet."

The source added, "The protagonist, an ambitious achiever, is still able to hold her own and victoriously beat all odds. The movie will be a slice of life and will be a subtle take on the beauty industry and how it encourages consumers to believe that lighter skin tone leads to better opportunities in life".

Speaking on the topic, recently, a campaign called #unfairandlovely was started to combat colour discrimination and the same took the social media by storm. The upcoming flick may mirror the movement. Bhansali is already helming many projects such as Tuesdays And Fridays which features Poonam Dhillon’s son Anmol Thakeria and former Miss India Jhataleka Malhotra, Malaal which has Jaaved Jaaferi’s son Meezaan and Bela Segal’s daughter Sharmin, Abhishek Kapoor’s film on Balakot air strike and Salman and Alia starrer Inshallah.
