When Salman staged a walkout !

Who says a dog’s life is not as good as any of the Bollywood star? Ask the producers of Ek Tha Tiger who apparently paid a bigger price to shoot with a pug than their lead stars, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Even though, it may sound a bit far-fetched but apparently, the cost per day of shooting with pets is higher than the average per day expense of the biggest stars of the movie, even more so if it’s a high maintenance pug.

A well placed source from the crew of Ek Tha Tiger reveals, “There is a pet shown in the movie. So we shot with a pug for a few days during the Mumbai schedule.Even though Salman Khan is the biggest and the most expensive star in the film but it was quite funny to know that the average per day cost of shooting with the dog was more than Sallu’s daily expense. The average daily expense of Salman includes his vanity van, spot boy and make up man while the pug was accompanied by a bunch of experts. There was a trainer, doctor, dietician present on the shoot every day and we had to call for a specialized vanity van for the dog.”

The source adds, “When Salman found out that pug’s daily wage was more than his daily expense, he staged a walkout and refused to shoot. The producer Aditya Chopra had to intervene. It was all done as a joke. Salman’s love for dogs is no secret. He kept teasing everyone on thesets how the dog is getting better treatment than him.”

A source from PETA informs, “Government has regulated strict laws of shooting with the animals. You have to first take the permission from Animal welfare Board ofIndia to shoot with a pet. It’s a government body that regulates animal rights.You also need to get the NOC from the pet’s owner and a health certificate from a veterinary doctor. AWB sends an inspector to the shoot to check if the animal is being treated well on the shoot.”
