Bollywood’s original Dream girl Hema Malini and Superstar Dharmendra youngest daughter Ahana Deol has got engaged to Vaibhav Vora, a businessman from Delhi . Ahana Deol looked resplendent in a sari
designed for her engagement. The private ceremony was held at their residence in Juhu Scheme. The ceremony was held in a very traditional manner and took place in the presence of the two families. Both Ahana and Vaibhav exchanged rings and took the blessings of the elderly and the almighty.

Incidentally both Vaibhav and Ahana had met at the wedding of her sister Esha Deol aound this time, last year and love blossomed between them. The two were very serious about each other and sensing their commitment with the relationship, both the families gave their consent.

Hema Malini was delighted to announce the engagement “I am glad that Ahana has found someone as her life partner. It is a joyous moment for all of us.Vaibhav is a very nice boy. Now we are waiting for the right date to finalize the wedding date. Need your good wishes for Ahana and Vaibhav"

Ahana Deol is a trained Odissi dancer under renowned guruji Rabindra Atibuddhi, and has done classical stage shows across the world, along with her mother and sister Esha. Besides classical dancing, Ahana is also interested in designing!

Ok woman, not all weddings are just about "fun"!! Sometimes its more about just sticking to a traditional spiritual ceremony and making sure its all in sync with their practices. And South Indians usually hold that in high regard as opposed to blasting a Bangra number and dancing away!

Then why are they getting married to Punjabis....Hema should respect groom's cultures to....and btw Punjabi weddings are not only abt Bhangra...we have our ceremonies and for the reception we are known for having fun....what else the reception is abt...its abt dancing, having fun....

PS they marry Punjabis bcz are the best looking men atleast in India...that is a fact and noone can deny it .....

-----------------------------

I deny that.Punjabi men have good looks but they are rogues and have the cheapo thingy about them. Any woman with self respect will admit this...they are horribly cheap in behvaiour, they never improve thier behavior and manners accroding to education and place they live in.

Even hema didnt gain anything after marrying..see all sholay shooting scenes(in which dharam had paid the lightman to spoil the lighting so that he could hug her more) and watch the scene where he hugs her inaapropriately. If she was that easy then he wouldnt need to bribe...

I don't think Hema regrets any thing so stop imposing your thoughts and aspirations on another person, just pray that you don't get the best of relationship from a married man, you could have single suitors but the married lover is the one that treats you better, the single men may be eligible but they might not be mature like the married man who already knows how to treat women from years of being married to one, thus he will tend to know how to treat women better unlike the single ones who are still grappling their way through life.

Think about it, am sure Hema has not regreted one single day being Dharmendra's woman.

PV please post.

You are just on point exactly my thought too

Anonymous's picture

Ahna is prettier than isha.she could had been actress

Anonymous's picture

I'm sure Rekha will not be single today if a certain megastar left his wife and came to her. She is single because she couldn't get the man she wanted and it happens with a lot of people. When you don't get the opportunity of being hitched to the person you dream of getting hitched to, after that point you don't think of it anymore. It doesn't look like Rekha's jubilant being single.

-------------------------------------

My point is about choices - Rekha could have very well have compromised and married somebody else. People do get married for reasons other than love, just because it seems like the 'right' thing to do. But she didn't marry anyone and that's her choice, and that's a valid choice. Getting married isn't the be-all-and-end-all of a woman's life.

People can choose to be single and they can choose to be married. Choosing the latter does not mean the person has achieved something that everyone needs to applaud. It's just a choice that works for them. There is no universally right choice or wrong choice. It's just a personal thing and I hate how societal pressures make it seem otherwise. I found that the comments here reflected those ridiculous societal norms. Marriage does not necessarily guarantee happiness, and neither does spinsterhood equate to unhappiness.

Just my li'l pet peeve. Rant over.

:)
God bless this couple!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are so right, a lot of people when someone is not married think they have a better life than the next single woman, please can someone tell me what actually assures happiness in life, if marraige was all it takes to be happy why are people divorcing every minute, why are so many women in unhappy marriages where they are subjected to a lot of physical and mental abuse.

So for the first writer on this trail, may be being married is your biggest achievement, for the next person it is something else and besides Rekha married once but her husband commited suicide because of some failed business venture. The marriage am sure was ok but the guy took his own life .

It was not her fault he comitted suicide.

So stop thinking happiness should be defined by you.

PV please post.

Maybe she's pondering over her own life and regretting her past decisions thinking how she could've led a happy married life by choosing a single man like her daughters did. Irrespective of having been far prettier and successful than her daughters ever could be she couldn't make a wise decision and be happy in her personal life.I feel sorry for her.Yet ,it's life we can't have it all and have to be satisfied with what we get especially in spheres of love and marriage.
.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you know she is not happy, stop feeling sorry for her, may be you don't know Hema's story at all let me tell you the bit a good majority of us on this forum know.Jeetendra wanted to marry her at a time, even Sanjeev Kumar was madly in love with her, she turned him down and he refused to marry till he suddenly died of heart attack in 1985, he was so crazy about her that he turned down yester year actress Sulkshana's proposal, so are you saying that Hema was unhappy to have turned down these men down, mind you Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra were very successful good looking men, but she chose a much married Dharmendra, for how ever she became his woman, Dharmendra loved her too and refused to let her go.

He would have let her marry Jeetendra but they were both madly in love, so they both converted to Islam to be together.

And about the anon who said ppl marry Punjabi grooms because they are the best looking.. Care to take a look around India?

"Girl you sound MAD lol, uh...punjabi weddings are def. way more fun than most,"
---------------------------------------------------

Weddings, and related ceremonies are joyous, happy occasions for those involved, just that individuals or families or cultures express them--or the 'fun' differently. The style of expression or ceremonies leading to the weddings does not take away the joy, fun or piety for the ones directly involved, family, or community.

_**Best wishes to the you couple and their family, friends, loved ones. Congratulations.**_

Anonymous's picture

ok seriously you point the worst looking punjabi men, but the whole industry is FULL of good looking Punjabi men:

The entire Kapoors
The Deols
The Roshans
Akshay Kumar
The Khannas
and the list goes on and on

Also, guys Esha did have a reception which looked like it was fun. granted the ceremony itself was south indian but even sikh or hindu punjabis ceremonies themselves arent fun either...the ceremonies themselves are always traditional. and Esha had a fun sangeet as well

BTW im a sikh punjabi so dont hate

Anonymous's picture

In india people dont respect other people's choices. i agree to the post below, getting married or getting pregnant doesnt mean its a feat achieved. Thats how people make it sound. Rekha did marry Mukesh Agarwal but it didnt work. If you want something and u get it well and good. Hema always looked as if she missed having a normal family but its achoice she made, or maybe she didnt have a choice as actresses dont get eligible bachelors to get married to.

Girl you sound MAD lol, uh...punjabi weddings are def. way more fun than most, because people enjoy themselves, dance like crazy, and it's just a great way to bring everyone together when you drop your guard and just get on the dance floor and mingle--no matter if its aunties /uncles/kiddies/tweens whatever. No one is putting down your culture or state or whatever it is that you are going on about. So you need to take a chill pill and relax honey.

Hema has found a 'complete package' for her girls! looks, money, pedigree etc ok?
she has raised the bar high especially for a man looks is not a conventional criteria
your statements about punjabis and looks is utter non sense!!
sun rises in the east is a fact
India is a democracy and the constitution respects diversity is a fact
on what planet are the punjabi uday chopra and ajay devgan good looking? they maybe great sons or fathers or great actors but plz looks!! you should be a racist punjabi get a life!
there's more to fun and weddings than balle balle

Great job Hemaji! This lady suffered a lot for love but to see her daughters settling properly is a blessing.

Anonymous's picture

It's great that Esha and Ahana are both settled, and they look so happy and that's what matters :)
But some of the comments below were kinda annoying.

How is it such a commendable 'achievement' to get married to a guy (who wasn't previously married to somebody else)?
Sure, it's a good thing, if people are in love and want to get married.. But that's not the only thing that a girl's life should be about, so that when she does that, it's as big a deal as you guys are making it out to be.

Everyone makes their own choices. Some don't get married at all, some get married and get a divorce, some marry divorcees, some make their career their life and don't care about settling down at all - who are we to judge the 'correctness' of their choices? If it works for them, that's all that matters.

I respect people like Rekha and Sushmita Sen because they are following the path that makes them happy. People who married married or previously-married men, may have done it out of love, so I respect that too - the 'other' woman is not always necessarily the home-breaker, sometimes they come into the picture when the home is already 'broken'. And either way, it's their choice and we don't know enough to judge.

All that being said, lovely pictures! Everyone is glowing with happiness!
