Do your thing Freida! These are the same people who were quick to put Amy Jackson, Kalki Koechlin, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and any other non-typical Indian woman on a pedestal. Freida is Indian and has every right to be at TIFF. People love her including me. Have a seat haters. We never put male actors through this crap

=============================================================
Please. Plenty of indians can't stand Katrina Kaif and all those talentless actresses in Bollywood. None of those women are put on a pedestall. Like how you put Freida constanly on a pedestal saying she is better then all the indian actresses?
You can still live in denial, her career is practically dead and that doesn't make someone a 'jelli h8ter' if they notice this. Its logical thinking really. You're too immature and lack any sort of intelligence to deal with it anyways. So no point in arguing with you.
BTW, would you like to know which stars were at TIFF? Okay I will give you a list
brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johassnon, Mila Kunis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Anisition,etc. Real,actaul A list stars that had work to promote. Freida was never shown or mentioned on the celebrity sites except for here. She has no work to promote, she even had to call the paps from london sayign she will be at TIFF lol. Desperate much?

proud of her. only indian successful actor in hollywood.

Its nice to see the obessive Freida fan ranting about indians, hatred, racism,etc.
She can't accept the fact that Freida has practically faded and this is the only way to keep herself in the limelight.
No big Hollywood director or even ones who do straight to dvd would want to hire her now. And as if Bollywood wants Freida. They never cared for her and still don't. But all Miss Pinto can do is attend cheap parties and movies premieres now. TIFF does have A list parties and premieres but Freida wasn't invited to any of them this time. No wonder

Has ms.pinto ever seen Ray's Apu Triology??charulata ??or even shekhar kapoor's bandit queen??charulata this year itself was shown as part of the Cannes Classics section...i didnt read any single interview where ms pinto talked about that..she has not done any Indian movie,so people have every right to question why she is there,n what is her contribution to indian cinema..she has always dissed Indian cinema ,she carries attitudes as if she is far better than any bolly star...dabang,chennai express are probably crappy movies but so far whatever movies ms.pinto has done after slumdog are not some cinematic masterpieces..
oh by the way i am a Bengali and one of the hugest satyajit ray fans..

==============================================================
Agree. I still see her one crazy stan still speaking about Freida as if she is a big A lister in Hollywood and everyone wants her lol. Sorry but Freida has offically become irrelavant.

Take a chill pill u all. It was celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema and Tiff. She was there supporting Tiff and Indian cinema. Slumdog Millionaire was HUGE in Toronto. They spoke more about films like charulata, apu sansar and bandit queen than your dabangs and chennai express. She has always mentioned loving old school indian cinema. I bet most of you have not even seen the Apu Trilogy. Moreover, guess what... She has every right to be where she wants to be. But U can keep judging and criticizing.

Why do I see such non-acceptance for Freida. She's a lovely young Indian woman of class and an ambassador we can be proud of. We Indians are all ambassadors of our country abroad. She must have been invited for a reason. She looks simple and gorgeous as always.

yea coz she's not very proud of bollywood then why is she there representing bollywood. she's yet to do a bollywood movie and makes stupid clauses like to dancing and lip syncing..

celebrating 100 years of bollywood without any bollywood stars...that's weird!!

I am glad to see an Indian beauty with an international look represent India. The costume party at Cannes or even the others at TIFF, always relegate India as this strange, exotic space. While the East Asian actresses give Hollywood actresses a competition in their own fashion field. I am not saying Indian actresses should not wear saris, but it is nice to see someone comfy with international glamour.

there is no hatred or jealousy towards Freida. As a fellow Indian, I am happy for her fluke of a success in Hollywood. If white trash like Katrina Kaif can rule Bollywood, then Freida sure deserves a piece of a pie in Hollywood. But none of her success is reasonable, that we have to agree on. She is one average looking Indian girl who has been polished and thinned out and suddenly speaks with a British accent - lame! So let's be happy for her and agree that she hasn't done much :)

Freida is India's Audrey Hepburn when it comes to style. Classy, chic and sophisticated. Glam without being flashy and tacky.

Anonymous's picture

The hatred for Freida because of bigotry and jealousy is extraordinary. So what if she acquired a British accent? I think it was a smart move considering her Hollywood career. And she is consistent with it. It doesn't sound fake at all.

Fashionfan101's picture

Clearly who ever invited her finds her more worthy of representing India then any other Bollywood actor/actress

Anonymous's picture

why is she representing Bollywood? Trishna was not a bollywood movie. if they honor bollywood, they should have invited some real bollywood stars. but i don't dislike freida.

Anonymous's picture

Hmmm, I do agree that is it odd that Freida is at this event, despite not starring in a truly "Indian" production.

she's so artificial, that british accent **kills** me!

What is she doing here? Wannabe hogging the limelight. Deserving bollywood actors/ directors should have represented and not this woman.
