Sridevi is a class apart. Even at this age she has proved that she needs to male actor to triumph at the box office. She carried her film all by herself to victory and I salute her for that. No actress after her has been able to do this except a Vidya Balan now.

Totally disagree. Sridevi is not overrated .She is one of the complete actresses of all time. I cant even think of anybody else playing any of her roles better. Also she never needed a Khan or any bigger star to reach this level. Look at Kareena/PC/Rani. They wont miss a single opportunity of working with the big Khans or any big male superstars and never say no to playing 15 min roles in their films even after being in the industry for so long, just to get another hit film ( kareena 3I, PC Don2 and Agneepath and Rani Mangal Pandey and Talaash).They are only interested in making these big stars more powerful
IMO Priyanka still has a long way to go. Ok she attempts challenging roles but never does complete justice to them with her acting. For Eg, her 12 roles in WYR was so boring and not believable at all. Ditto for SKM. I could not see the characters come alive but Priyanka trying to act differently. In Barfi, she definitely improved but still she could've played a lot better
Coming to Kareena, the roles you mentioned are not even challenging especially Talaash and Omkara . Any decent actress with 2-3 years can pull them off and if Fashion/ Heroine was offered to Sridevi in her 20s or 30s she would have done much better job. But yes at 48 she wont suit such characters today mainly because the role demands to look glamourous and hot
Sri's role in EV was so much easier?? It was not another Kjo musical romance or a mindless masala movie with some great songs. It had a good but simplistic story but you cannot connect with the film at all if her acting was bad

why is sridevi so overrated? i agree she was terrific in EV but her role was so much easier than kareena-heroine or priyanka-barfi! plus, kareena and priyanka can do lamhe, sadma, chaalbaaz and EV but i doubt that sridevi can ever do a heroine/fashion/talaash/barfi/omkara/saat khoon maaf !!!!!!!!!!
EV demanded a subtle performance and that is always the hardest to do. And Kareena and PC can do a Sadma, Lamhe and Chaalbaaz???? WHAT A JOKE!!! These are classics and immortal performances that no one can touch for a million years except Sridevi. That's why all the Kareenas and Priyankas are such Sri bhakts!!! I am a Juhi Chawla fan but a fact is a fact.

Let any of the above mentioned names attempt a Chaalbaaz / Sadma / Lamhe/ Gumraah/ Mr. India and a host of her Southern roles... and then see the result.. U will get your answer.. Sri is not over rated.. Kareena is....What did she do in Heroine??... She isn't at all effortless, can't do comedy at all.. Look at her in Golmaal returns... overacting from the word go....Priyanka is lucky that she got very strong scripts like BArfi / Fashion.. Make her run a movie like Nagina on her shoulders..a silly movie believable only because of Sri and Amrish Ji...
Sri's role wasn't at all easier in EV.... The kind of subtlety she bought to the role, only a Nutan or a Waheeda Rehman can bring it.. Your Kareena/ PC would have just hammed like there is no tomorrow...
Look at her prison scenes in Gumrah... those alone are superior than the entire "Heroine" film...
my 8 yr old daughter gives better expression in her school and b'day pics, than what katrina give's in her films and photo shoots...
