People are such hypocrites! They lay into living actresses who have stolen married men with children and yet have only nice things to say about this actress who no doubt was talented. Whatever Raj Babber was or is, he didn't force Smita into a relationship with him! Smita and Raj both hurt many other people.

its true about her being blatantly ignored by Bollywood. Considering the quality of her work and the promise of the great things that never came her way she is in the league of the biggest legends of the industry and yet we never see any homages, tributes etc to her in the gazillions of award shows.
She had such a promising career ahead of her. So tragic what happen to her. Saw couple of her songs from the movie Aakhir Koun, she looked amazing. Is her Mother still alive?

Every time I see Amy with Prateik, I wonder how smita would have reacted to her son dating a British blonde who was universally panned in her bollywood debut. This world is strange. Prateik if u ever get to read this message, get hold of yourself, leave the dating scene and rock stuff for a while and concentrate on your acting because you were really good in dhobi ghat and jtyjn. from what I know as a fan of smita, she was a pre mature child and hence generally such people have pregnancy complications. I guess her death would have been a combination of both medical negligence and emotinal issues in getting a child out of wedlock. Smita defn stood out for her artistic portrayals and as her fan I feel sad to see Prateik wasting it all. I mean how can a British blonde with no connections whatsoever with India and it's societal net give emotional support to a person like Prateik who has had a difficult family setup. Just beats me but maybe I am wrong. Hope smita guides her son from where she is.

Sad but so amazing that she experienced success and fame and expressed and got appreciated for her talent at such a young age before she passed away. She looks beautiful.
One director Mrinal Sen said that Smita Patil had died due to gross medical negligence. But her sister said Smita died of a broken heart. She was neglected by her husband (Raj Babbar) during her pregnancy.
SO Sad Bollywood hardly remembers Smita Patil. I don't think I've ever seen Bollywood do a Tribute to Smita Patil since her death. Just recently at the Chevrolet Apsara Awards function where they Honored many Yesteryears Stars including Shabana Azmi, and they forgot to honor Smita, Prateik was in the Audience he could have received the honored for his mother. Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil were comtemporaries, if they honored Shabana they could have honored Smita too.
Like always..Shameless Bollywood. Only if you dress half naked and pout then you get recognize.
