It is reported that salman told akshay that he needs a hair transplant and gave him his doctor's no. this is where big b came in and adviced akshay to have it done from the doctor who did his transplant, according to big b it is declared a superhit much like sarkar raj and the foreign media claims they havent seen something like this in 20 years. people who are supporting polygamy here should understand that opposing polygamy is not to offend any specific community but to oppose polygamy itself.
Like few hindu leaders opposed sati pratha,Baal vivah, permiting widow re marriage, and female infantacide(struggle is on)ages ago helped to eradicate to some extent.Yes polygamy was there in hinduism years ago but now has eradicated to some extent.so be the change.

Hindu's ( i assume many posters are Hindu) worship od's who had two wives prime example, member of the trinity Shiv who was married to both Ganga & Parvati, Ganesh also had two wives; Buddi & Siddi. These two dieties are the most popularly worshipped in the Hindu Pantheon. As a poster said most religious histories have polygamy admist them so do not get on you high horses with regards to Islam.

About hurt feelings & blah blah blah, as Salman khan would say Tenu ki farak painda?

Helen wasn't there big deal, Salim Khan is religiously obliged to spend equal time with both, i'm sure he'll celebrate their anniversary with her. Honestly find his interview regarding his second marriage and your ignorance will perhaps be countered and you may develop at the very least an appreciation of what is a popular and ancient custom. If you can't be bothered to overcome you ignorance, don't comment on what you don't undertsand.

They seem like such a lovely close-knitted family. Bless them.
Salman Khan just shines in this picture though. Such a good-looking man.

polygamy doesn't have any place in a civilized society? umm.. what abt Utah? If the United States is the prime example of a 'civilized society' why is it legal and accepted for people following the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints?
What about nudists and swingers? Two practices of the 'civilized' albeit western society.
So you're saying the 'civilized society' is okay with people living with no clothes every day and another group of people that swap spouses with another set of couple for a night but it is not okay with one man legally keeping 2 wives?
Civilized society is a farce made up of hyprocritcs who seem to think everybody else is at fault but them.
And to the bright mind who said polygamy is 'not right' because it hurts feelings, well 'feelings and emotions' are an individual notion and not a collective one. What hurts you might not hurt someone else.
Polygamy is a personal choice and please look up the history of your practiced religion if you do practice a religion, chances are polygamy existed and was accepted.

So creepy! Was the bechari second wife tucked away somewhere else ? What self-respecting woman would put up with this kind of 'abuse'. Just because his first wife felt she had no other choice but to put up with his affairs and look the other way doesn't mean they are 'genuinely happy'. She's from an older generation, conservative religion ,probably chose to stay so that she could have a roof over her and her childrens' heads. No wonder Sallu has such dysfunctional relationships with all the women he's dated.

These moral police roaming around Pinkvilla need to shut the hell up. If you don't believe in polygamy then don't practice it, why are you pushing your ideals onto others? They seem genuinely happy and that's all that matters, whatever way they wish to live their lives is none of your business especially since it does not adversely affect you.

Darmendra, hema marriage is also not acceptable & thankfully also illegal! However, 2 wrongs do not make a right! It does not matter who does it, a wrong action is wrong! We evolved humans claiming to be civilized should learn to do the right thing and polygamy certainly has no place in a civilized society!

Anonymous's picture

ok...is it just me or does salman look younger than almost all his siblings...so hottttt

Anonymous's picture

If they want to celebrate their anniversary, let them. They seem pretty happy here.

what about dharmendra hema mailni and the firt wife??

just because some communities follow polygamy does not mean its ok pratice . There is a deep rooted historical reason why islam agreed to polygamy and it has been abused by people today to justify their philandering lifestyles.
Salman's mother would have accepted helen over time. I am sure her first reaction wouldn't have been of open hearted acceptance. No woman can accept that whole heartedly. will man accept another man in his wifes life.would you justify that? no ..sad isnt it.whats sauce for goose isnt so for the gander.

How come Helen is not here celebrating with them ???? I guess there are some things that one never gets used to.

People here justifying polygamy? Is it ok to hurt the feelings of your wife? (i would rather divorce my wife first before i move on). i find it akin to cheating on your wife. No religion should permit hurting other peoples' feelings on purpose. I'm not saying any religion is better than the others. All religions are man made and they all have their quirks and questionable practices. But it is up to us, evolved, civilized humans to use the religion for the betterment of humanity. It is as simple as taking the good from it and dropping the bad.

he looks completely dashing...take from a girl who's so his junior..i wouldn't mind his age at all!!
