Veena:

Have you ever and ever thought about end of life? have you ever and every understood the value of a muslim girld's body? showing your boobs to public is like drinking a class of water for you. what a bloody shame

Anonymous's picture

I am going to get a printout of her photo, frame it and hang it outside my house gate. This will prevent rats, spiders, cockroaches and other bugs from entering in my house .

Anonymous's picture

I like veena for standing up for her her beliefs and not being scared of the choices she made. These mullahs can go to hell! The photoshoot looks trashy tho veena. Theres a fine like between vulgar and sensual! Otherwise ur a very pretty girl.-pproud pakistani

@Mystery Guy, thanks...but I dnt think you should feel bad for the middle eastern women, because what they are doing is exactly their choice sometimes! I knw A lot of muslims who are SO happy to wear burkha and pray namaz to Allah 5 times daily...none of the muslims..including me takes this as an oppression..we love our religion..and we totally believe in it..and we think every order Allah gave has good reasons behind it! But, my point is tht it is very difficult for us to live up to Allah's expectations these days..because generation is moving on...and when people near you is veryyy advanced..you cannot stop either! It get's difficult...Middle Eastern women live in a different society..for ex in Dubai, almost everyoneeeeeee wears Burkha!..so its easy for those women to accept themselves! and to love themselves!

Fiza Khan. I think again it is sad that you say Veena Malik cannot represent Pakistan because she is not a good muslim according to you. Just because she is pakistani does not mean she has to be a good muslim to represent pakistan. What kind of logic is that?? Also, you say that islam does not allow photographs to be taken. That may be your opinion. Islam like anything else is open to interpretation. You say a true 100% muslim cannot watch tv or take photographs. Islam cannot be simplified to such a narrow view. I am not being personal here so don't get me wrong. However, islam is a religion and we do not live in the first century. I am a muslim btw and i do not go by the narrow minded views that many have. There are many different schools of thought in islam. In my opinion, if you want to stop watching tv then you are preventing yourself from being educated. Sure, there are things that are trash on tv but the tv is a great medium.

@ Anon, I really wished you understood what I wrote..but I am not interested in writing another long message to you explaining wht I wrote in my post! Mystery Guy understood my post perfectly! And please....I knw tht TV is a great medium..but tht does not change the fact tht muslims are not allowed to watch TV and all tht! ... its a great medium..we all love it..we all use it...! Tht is my POINT exactly! tht even though we in Islam we are not allowed to do so many things...we are still doing it! because generation moves on! Stop misinterpreting messages..anyways..

I agree with you. It comes down to the reason that there is a political history. And I think it is common knowledge that Pakistan wants to show India that they are the better country i.e the reason for their country's existence is justified. I recently watched an interview of Javed Akhtar where he spoke about how Pakistan was founded on religion i.e Islam and is thus unsecular. So when a Javed Akhtar can become India's best writer then it irks them. When there are problems however between the different religions in india then they are pleased. So whether India does things to show Pakistan that they are better, I'm not so sure but I think it is a certainty that Pakistan attempts to be the better out of the two. I think Pakistan sees India as competition but I think India has moved on leaps and bounds. Anyway coming back to the topic, I think someone like Veena Malik or anybody for that matter.. SRK, Salman etc etc should be judged on their work which is why they are in the public eye not their faith or how many times they do or don't pray. That is personal to them. Frankly, if we should ask anyone it is ourselves on how we can better ourselves. Does it make us feel better to point out the flaws of film personalities? That's my view anyway.

At the end of the day people or a nation should stop putting blame on her. Just cuz she a girl. I dont even like her but feel bad when I read what Pakistanis have to say about her and its not even her fault. Its sad that she is called a wh()%$ by every pakistanis which I find very derogatory on such a girl next door.
Agreed with Fiza khan, the question of judging others should not be done. What rite do people have to pass comments that what she is doing cant be liked by god? Are they so religious themselves? If they are so called 'good muslims' then they shoudnt even pass bad comments on others! Then they shouldn't even turn on the computer! let alone using Internet. (no religious offence intended, just a statement to prove my point :) )

The world is filled with hypocrites who claim to be religious and having 'sharam' and all know what they're doing Inside.

And this is 21st century! grow up! People should come out of delusion and stop fighting over petty things. The condition of middle eastern women is the worst i guess. God bless those in middle east!

And yes mallika sherawat isnt a bad person, she just exposes. So what? She's hot and she is an actress! c'mon!
I follow her on twitter and she is very nice to her fans.

P.S I am not Pakistani.

Why is religion brought up here in this topic? I am a Muslim and I do not follow all the rules of Islam, though I 100% try my best, but it is not always easy, it takes time. Please, do not bring the topic of Islam here! Shahrukh Khan/Farah Khan are muslims, and in Islam it is not allowed to even take your photos! forget about dancing, romancing, doing etc on screen. Whatever Islam allows or not allows, there are "huge" reasons behind it, and I must say "good" reasons behind it. But a lot of you do not understand such terms, especially because you have never read Quran before and you are highly influenced by Laden's speeches, which is not really true. An Islamic woman is said to wear Burkha, not because Allah thinks she is "less" than a man, but because there are lots of good reasons behind it. There are lots of rumours about Islam, which are not true.

Coming back to the point, for a Muslim it is not easy to always follow the rules because for ANYONE it is about their indivual self, to what extent do you want to follow the rules? To what extent can you control? Etc. Veena Malik is a woman, who is a "DISGRACE" to HERSELF, she is embarrassing herself not the "pakistani" nation or "Islam." Also, not because she is exposing herself or etc....but because as Nabby said...all of the controversies she went through so far. Veena Malik for some reason, I get this feeling tht she is trying too hard to be 'sexy' which she clearly is not.

ONE woman like Veena cannot represent Islam or Pakistan! Because Islam's rules are clearly also not followed by Salman, Aamir, Shahrukh, Farah, etccc. They believe in Allah I know, but I wonder if they even pray 5 waqt namaz as they claim. And as I have a said before, a true 100% muslim is not even allowed to take photos of themselves or even WATCH TV! So, what she wants to do - is her LIFE...she wants to expose..thts her choice. My complain is not tht, my complain is tht, I think she is trying too hard to get attention every where.......controversies after controversies!!

And I don't know why but I like Malika Sherawat, I think she is a good actress from what I have seen so far......she is not like Veena Malik at all! Mallika Sherawat never wants to gain attention! She is someone who wants to live her own life with her own rights, she likes to expose, let her expose! She is the one who did a movie with Jackie Chan - not katrina or kareena.

Fair enough, I haven't seen the posts. I'll take your word for it. I believe you. However, the difference is that when Veena Malik does something Religion and nation are intertwined together i.e what kind of pakistani is she?/what kind of a muslim is she? Either question can be taken for the other. I mean the country was founded in the name of religion so people believe that behavior should be "pak" i.e pure and muslim. Now, personally I believe that each induvidual and their religion is for themselves. Who is anyone to judge her on her muslimness. Have we become God? What gives us that right?? Her religion is between her and her God. Also, you say i need to wake up and live in the 21st century. I think that comment was personal towards me. Nothing i said in my comment was personal towards you. Please check again the words i used in my comment.
---------------------
I didn't mean to write anything personal towards you. I apologize if it came out that way. I do agree that to each their own. How one perceives his/her religion is a matter of the inner self. And I know that people from Pak question her religion, ethic, etc. What I was trying to say is that when Indian people blame Pakistanis and Pakistanis blame Indians for conducting in a matter like this, there's a fine thread of difference (Veena Malik bashing and Mallika Sherawat bashing). If Veena is exposing her body, let her. But she always suddenly disappear from sets, runs away, part of scandalous controversies (Ashmit and her in Big Boss) etc. If you think from an Indian point of view, if Rakhi Sawant went to work in Pakistan, Indians would have a certain bit of expectation from her regarding how she represents herself in the public eye. I think that's what Pakistan's main problem with her. She comes off pretty trashy in India and given the political history between Pakistan and India, I am sure each country only wants to show off its best to each other.

That's bs. You cannot do as you like in pakistan. Yeah, if you wear what you want, then be prepared to be touched up. Fact! This happened to my own mother. It may be an islamic state but that is just by name. There is hardly anything islamic about it. It's all a facade.

I think you're wrong. When mallika Sherawat was being bashed it was because she was looking like an embaressment to herself not to India. India has much more going for it and doesn't need a Mallika Sherawat as it's embassador. She is simply an induvidual. However, when it comes to pakistan and pakistanis. When your citizens do things which are "unislamic" or not morally correct according to what happens in Pakistan they are bashed for shaming the country. You guys need to start living in the 21st century. If she is making a mockery of herself, then it's her choice. That has nothing to do with the country.
===========================
First of all, I'm not Pakistani! My mom is a mixed Indian, brought up in the UK, later moved to Toronto. My dad is of Indian origin but has been living in Canada since his late teens, I was born and brought up in Toronto with frequent vists to India throughout my life. If you had read my comment to which YOU commented, I clearly stated that I'm not a Pakistani.
Secondly, yes just go read all the post on Mallika's Cannes visits and see how many Indians (resident/non-resident) have bashed her and commented saying that she is a disgrace to India. Just pull up those posts and read for yourself. They also went on record comparing her to Veena Malik and Rakhi Sawant. That is not only attacking Mallika's personal style of dressing but also how she represents India. Heck, people mocked Aishwarya Rai for being overweight and some of their justification was that she's sort of an abassador of India in the International platform and therefore, many Indians were not happy with her looks. Go pull up those posts as well. Perhaps, you too need to wake up and live in the 21st century. I surely am!

To the anon below who is picking on me for writing the truth.. check ur facts urself. You live in US and maybe visiting Pak once in a bluemoon so u maynot be seeing the truth. I dont wanna offend any pakis here cuz I myself have one paki friend.
THAnks to all anons supporting me here :) My point being that once I saw an Interview from PAki media that showed her sitting with 5 mullahs( or mufti or something).... they constantly blamed her for everything... They continuosly accused her of shaming the nation.!!
woah! Is it 4 real?? She is a person and she can do whatever she wants. If people r so obsesssed with "SHARAM' n all , then dont u ignore her? Issuing a 'fatwa' against her is simply silly!

I saw bigg boss 4 and found her to be a normal girl next door.. She is just like any other girl who has emotions. But no one understands. YEs these photos r extremely silly but blame her stylists n director...

"The Jewel of Pakistan" she is

she will need lots of photoshop she looks like drag queen :)

woahhh people are so volatile here! and as for people saying veena malik is ruining pakistans image..trust me noone considers pakistan to embody a model society..leave the girl alone...people with any idea of what happens at a photo shoot knows that the person who does her makeup and the person who dresses her are the ones to be blamed...the photographer probably talked her into this look...though i do blame her for extremely poor judgement

Anonymous's picture

Who ever did the makeup should be banned for life lol

To Mystery Guy!!

You're sitting in India and passing all these judgements on Pakistani people!! Who said we don't have right for women? Women here are completely and totally happy here!!!! They can do whatever they want! But remember that this is an islamic state, and so all people have to live with some kind of dignity and what we call "sharam". Both women and men of our country were raised to become respectable adults. This lady (if I can even call her that) has no respect for herself or others!!! She is making a fool of herself where ever she goes. Thanks for housing her indian, please don't send her back!!
Don't pass judgements without any knowledge of what ur talking abt!! If you come to live in Pakistan for just some time, I'm sure this country will prove you wrong.
I don't live in pak, was born and raised in the US, but when ever I go there I've never been judged. I can wear whatever I want, go where ever I want and do whatever I want!! Pakistan, contrary to popular belief is not a country who oppress women! It's as free of a country as india is in many ways. The difference being our women CHOOSE not to wear revealing clothing(minus the sleeveless and capris) because of our religious beliefs.
----------------------------------

its funny that how many indians bash Pakistan or Pakistanis without having to interact with them or see their lifestyle, there is no field in Pakistan, where you will find Pakistani women , we have women in army/narvy/airforce, entrepeneurs, tv anchors, engineeers, and even there are so many women holding high official posts in the government, there is limit to ignorance, if you dont know anything, dont comment!I bet they have never seen our dramas/Fashion shows or how a common Pakistani urban girl leads her life.
you put it so well, thank you for taking the words out of mouth,

@Anon 17:06 you are just proving mystery guy's point. With ppl like you, no wonder your country is so backward. Seriously you are delusional enough to believe that all those ladies wear the veil wilfully! You just seem brainwashed like most of your countrymen. And before you claw at me for not knowing anything, let me tell you i have been there and have met women who have been forced to wear a burkha. You living in the US are as far from ground zero as can be. And surely a lot of sharam in pakistan, with the highest no of porn searches being done by Pakistanis. PV,please publish!
