The "Dancing God" of Indian Cinema, Prabhu Deva celebrates his 46th birthday today and this one happens to be a special one. The actor-director and choreographer, Prabhu Deva reunites with Salman Khan after almost 10 years for their upcoming film Dabangg 3, after their blockbuster film Wanted. The shooting of Dabangg 3 kick-started recently and Salman Khan made sure to share a glimpse from the sets in Indore. Salman shared the first image from the sets and wrote as, "Day1... Dabangg 3." Prabhu Deva is fondly called as the "God of Dancing" as he has managed to wow the audiences with his on-screen and off-screen work. 
 
Known for his down to earth attitude, Prabhu Deva has achieved a lot and his struggle story from being a background dancer to an acclaimed director now is very inspiring. He is one of those stars who has no air about himself despite being a part of the film industry and as someone who has achieved fame. On his birthday, today, lets take a look at his journey from being a background dancer to directing Salman Khan's Dabangg 3. 
 
Born in Mysore, Karnataka, Prabhu Deva took up dancing and has learned several dance forms including Indian classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam from Dharmaraj and Udupi Lakshminarayanan. Prabhu's first appeared as a boy playing the flute in the song "Panivizhum Iravu" from the Tamil film Mouna Ragam (1986) and later, appeared as a background dancer for a song in the 1988 Tamil film Agni Natchathiram. 
 
Prabhu Deva first film as a choreographer was the Kamal Haasan starrer Vetri Vizha (1989). He has since then choreographed for over 100 movies. 
 
In early 90's, he took up acting and featured in the Tamil films. However, his ability to dance was never forgotten. 
 
His songs "Mukkabla" and "Urvasi Urvasi" are the best and iconic that are still popular among fans. He slowly started moving to big budget films, and with this, his remuneration increased. He charged around Rs 60 lakhs and appeared in a double role alongside Shilpa Shetty and Madhoo in Mr. Romeo. 
 
From Tamil, Telugu to Bollywood, Prabhu has featured in many films. He moved on to prioritise acting roles in different industries, notably starring in off-beat roles in the Kannada film H2O. He portrayed a supporting role in Santosh Sivan's Malayalam historical drama film Urumi (2011).
 
He also portrayed leading roles in the dance films Style (2006), ABCD (2013) and its sequel ABCD 2 (2015).
