Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) recently held a meeting and also released an official statement to announce about the three major changes. In an official document released by the members, it is said that critics who degrade a film, star cast, director and producer in their movie review, will be sent a legal notice and will be banned from being a part of any events. This includes every event including press shows, success meets, audio launches and trailer launches.

The document also reads that all Tamil producers and south Indian PROs need to follow these guidelines strictly. "We request all the Tamil movie producers and south Indian PROs, to follow the above conclusions. By Tamil movie producer council Advisory committee and South Indian Pro-Union," it read. The council has also decided not to give any kind of rewards to the press attending the events and screenings of the films. One of the guidelines includes, "In pooja, press meet, success meet, audio launch, trailer launch we will provide tea, snacks only."

On the other hand, The New Indian Express quoted a PRO on condition of anonymity saying, "The decision has been taken only by selected members of the council. All the producers have to agree to these conditions for them to be implemented. I don't see this happening as there is a lot of difference of opinion within the council."
