Dhobi Ghat - Theatrical Trailer - Ft. Aamir Khan
Dhobi Ghat is an upcoming Hindi film produced and directed by Kiran Rao in her directorial debut. The film is scheduled for release in cinemas on 21 January 2011. The film stars Aamir Khan and Prateek Babbar and is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. Aamir Khan is said to have a lead role in the movie as a painter. Gustavo Santaolalla was signed it to compose the score and soundtrack of the film. Dhobi Ghat had its world premiere in September 2010 at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Looking forward to watch this movie!
i'm hoping its one of those gritty, unsettling and slightly disturbing films that stays in your head for a while. The kinda movie that's left open to interpretation and doesn't bonk you in the head with the 'point' its tryna make. I haven't seen an indian movie like that, the one that makes the junkies of this genre blog endlessly and swap interpretations of the movie. i'm hoping...lets see it is or not.
Dude have you seen momento? Gajini couldn't even touch it. It was a action movie with a backdrop of the short term amnesia. Momento was a twisted, dark, confusing masterpiece. Gajini was a joke and no one called it a brilliant film, just a popular one.
Btw again, don't you think the reviewers at the Toronto Film Festival would have picked up if Dhobi Ghat was copied from 3 critically acclaimed movies?
As I said, hyperlink cinema is a movie format. Not every movie based around interconnected people is the same. For example Syriana couldn't be more different from 21 grams.
Calm down, watch the film or just wait for a proper theatrical trailer ( this is a teaser) and then give your 'expert' verdict. At this point all judgements are premature.

Kudos to Amir for taking risks by backing projects like Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghats, rather than producing the usual fluff that bollywood craps out every week.
Priteik Babber looks so HOT!
It looks nothing like the Apartment (life in a metro), it was based on mutiple individual relationships, nor does It look like Babel ( a movie about communicational diversity) and it doesnt seem like 21 grams either. Don't you think the reviewers at TIFF would have caught on if it was lifted from two of Alejandro Gozalez's two most prominent and awared films and one 60's classic?
What all those movies have in common are their format hyperlink cinema, i.e multiple interconnected stories. Maybe Kiran has incorporated that format, or the six degrees of separation concept, although they are only 4 leads shown here.
That being said, can't wait to see Pratiek Babbar in a movie!!
absorbing and real. good trailor. should be a good watch.
At least the actors look natural and not over made up with makeup and whitened.
I'd much prefer to watch a natural film like this than all the phony crap that comes out of bollywood like "i hate love stories", love aaj kal, action replay, and so many many others....
Interesting promo.. nice.. seems like a good movie.. Prateek Babbar is to watch out for... He looks very promising..

is it me or does aamir always "MAKE AN EFFORT" to come across as a visionary? see how he stares at nowhere when he wants himself to be seen as a "thinking" being. have seen the same in movies like 3 idiots/tzp. tends to get a bit redundant right eh? trailor is fine tough nothing "out of the ordinary". we have watched stories regarding different characters based in a single city before. Yuva/ life in a metro

that "shai" girl is such a natural beauty. unlike some other plastic non-actresses in bollywood.
am sure it develops well as it got so many rave reviews but promo almost put me to sleep...
stop jumping on the copy band wagon...how do u know its copied when u have obviously not seen it
looks like Babel an 21 gr. but i'am so exited to see it, i do not think it is something copied or wte, i've met one critic who has seen it in Toronto, she was amazed by movie

the soundtrack isnt original and neither is the story..its a cross between the apartment and life in a metro..which in itself wasnt original..whatever happened to originality
the visuals are pretty la,e though the bmg is kinda groovy
