Whats up with Imtiaz Ali giving space and break to wooden but pretty(read fair) girls? The man has lost it completely, it was he who suggested Diana Penty, even YRF wouldn't launch her, they still do a better job with the actors they choose-even if star kids. Your work represents your mentality. Imtiaz's is not looking too good. THere is no dearth of exceptional actors in India, struggling actors who can give you goosebumps with honesty in their portrayal, sad that some of them will never be noticed by these hotshots.

Garden Vareli like many others indulges in big time casting couch. I vouch for it because a roomate of mine was almost selected as their main model for a year(pay was good, 40 lakhs per annum) but the trick was satisfying the big wigs in the company. It was pretty clear to her, she pondered over it seriously, because people do get tempted but since she was already with a builder bf she decided to ditch the offer. The murky world of glamour :(
Judging from her performance, we all know why the casting directors from Cocktails chose her so quickly - it was definitely not because of her talent. She is pretty and looks white!
Shes very beautiful and people need to stop being so critical and mean towards models who come into the bollywood industry. Truth is people may not admit it but a lot of people are attracted to a movie and want to watch it by looking at the cast of the movie and the appearance of the stars within the movie. Models generally deliever a good performance with absolutely beautiful appearances they may not naturally have the charisma of a true bollywood actress but they do try. In my opinion Diana shined in this movie because lets face it Saif Ali Khan plays the same "player time" role in most of his movies so it comes naturally now and Deepika in her own right is absolutely beautiful and she has blosommed from Om Shanti Om days. Working with two well known stars is a hard job and definitely not a confidence booster and I think Dianas role was more based on showing facial emotions as she is the traditional desi girl who doesnt speak as much therefore her acting mostly came across her facial expressions another reason why she has to be an excellent new comer. Better then Kareena, Aishwaria, Bepasha, Sonam an definitely Katrinas first debut movies. All the best to Diana
People are so funny ... not giving any credit to a newcomer for the hard work they put, be it nargis or katrina or anyone for that matter. I feel we should not be the one judging these people because we dont know it. the critics and film industry people are the one who should comment on how good or how bad they are. our job as an audience is to just watch the film for entertainment and forget about it.
She was great in her first movie. She is soooo beautiful and natural.
Agree with luvtohate on the acting part. She's not even pretty. Her one eye looked lazy in the movie and her lips were dry and chapped. So so soooo average looking. Thank god it was nargis and not her in Rockstar. Nargis may nt have been able to act one bit but she fit the part of the ethereal Kashmiri beauty perfectly!
She only looked pretty and slim..........Her acting was hard as rock, stiff as wood, voice & dialogue delivery needs a hell lot of work, body language was very stiff similar to how she is in the interviews.....OVERALL, A TYPICAL BAD BOLLYWOOD ACTRESS....It is sad that producers/directors would sacrifice acting/screen presence for a model who only looks great.....Please, try harder next time because there are many girls with both the goods.

PPl like Katrina ,ash and even Kareena in the beginning were horrible.Even today when she has to share screen spae with another ffemale she goes mad...and twists her jaw like enthiran

i think she was good for a newcomer. She is much better than Nargis Fakhri and Katrina Kaif in her first movie itself.
