Sonam Kapoor talks to Anupama Chopra at the ongoing Cannes festival about her fashion icon status, her upcoming movies and her career choices. It looks like Sonam is just walking across the frame in Mehra's movie on Milkha Singh(just a special appearance may be?).

I was watching that song in Race the other day, Khwab Dheke, Katrina was all out in that song; dressed sexily with banging dance moves. Sonam did something similar in 'Players', but she looks clearly uncomfortable doing so. She was like a child trying to be Katrina. I think that's what she meant by shameless. To be a good actor, you have to be shameless; like Vidya Balan did in The Dirty Picture. But thats not for Katrina. Katrina can be termed shameless for many other different things. 1 thing I can think of is the Slice ad!
1) katrina rocks & is very beautiful plus hard working
2) I find this funny..... this girl!!!!

but even if she didn't ment to insult Katrina... it's not that the fact she used the wrong words it's most of her words that com from her mouth in interviews always seemed to be the wrong thing =/
not trying to be rude because I understood she didn't mean any harm but the way she says thing is not very well though out & harsh.
Guys, I agree with some people who wrote below that her purpose wasn't to insult Katrina. I watched the video and she just didn't use the politically correct word. By shamelessness, she meant that you have to stop being self-concious and have a lot of confidence to pull off "over the top" roles. It was meant as a compliment and she also said that her dad is capable of doing these roles. Not her. It wasn't an insult.

Sonam does not know what she is talking here. She looks fashionable compared to other bollywood actress b'coz the others don't spend day in day out putting an ensemble together, they rather act and work hard in their movies unlike Sonam.
Don't really know why she used the word 'Shameless' when talking about Katrina. She need to think before talking.

She has a really annoying squeaky voice!! ugh.It seems like she has no more than 1 movie this year, hence, she's busy promoting herself as the fashionista!!! lol and she states that she is a trendsetter in getting all the other actors to hire a stylist...so vain she is and full of herself.
She's in dire need of english lessons because I don't think she meant to insult Katrina, but that's the way it came off. I don't think the word "shameless" should be used to describe your peers especially when you're in a business where what you say and how you look decide your image. I agree that she dresses way better than the rest of the bollywood clan and has a better fashion sense than most, but she has absolutely no sense of how to talk. Besides the remark about Katrina, she was awkward during the entire interview, went off on weird tangents, and looked like she was trying so hard to seem assertive in what she was saying, but it just wasn't working at all.. I don't even think she herself knows what she was saying.

All the top leading actresses of bollywood like kareena, priyanka, katrina and vidya are bad dressed because they don't try hard to look fashionable. They rather shows interest in movies and acting as they are busy and hard working. All free actresses have more time to spend on clothes like dia, sonam, neha and twinkle..

I don't think acting is her cup of tea.
The reason why she is labeled a good dresser is because bollywood actresses are such mediocre dressers.

I totally agree, bollywood actresses are mediocre when it comes to fashion, there were a few exceptions recently however like Preity and Twinkle....they dress much better than Sonam but soemhow she's got this fashionista tag and its stuck despite her being a total copycat and getting it wrong on several occasions...
Anyhow shameless is a relative term...she's not exactly a sati savitri type ...she talks about others being shameles when she herself is wearing such a low cut blouse. Either she is nasty or really needs english lessons.
Gosh why are people so stupid. She did not insult Katrina, she was praising her for believing and giving her all in her roles, even when the characters are OTT and difficult to relate to. She even said she needed to pick that skill up. Haters are gonna hate.

i love how nervous she is, she doesnt seem to be trying so hard, which in turn makes her seem real not fake. Her voice is shaky too. Shes right about the katrina thing but there was no need to use it, especially the term "shameless" shouldnt have been used. But again i think she said it out of nervousness, she was "uhm uhm" uhming a lot, being at a loss of words. She will go far, if she learns to improve her acting.
wholly crapp, she praised kaif and then totally insulted her! "you need to be shameless to do a thing like that." though i dont think she meant to be spiteful or mean, but her severe lack of choosing fitting words can certainly land her in hot water. and yes i agree with fellow posters that she should NOT open that mouth of hers. ouch. however, regarding kaif, i believe she totally is shameless.

A role is never "sexy" like you say. A role either has substance or it doesn't. And, the roles that katrina gets do not possess substance. None whatsoever. Does shah rukh or aamir do "sexy" roles? Sexy is the wrong word to use, a role is either meaty and has substance and depth to it or it doesnt.
