Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt promote Student of The Year at Radio City, Mumbai.

I am loving this starcast as they look fresh and a lot of fun. Karan, like always was in his funny element at the event. Watch the video to hear what the cast has to say about the movie.

Highlights:
Alia Bhatt talks about her upcoming movie with Ranbir Kapoor(clarifies that Ranbir Kapoor has not been approached yet)
Varun Dhawan talks about Salman Khan's feedback on SOTY. I love Varun's confidence both on and off screen.
Karan Johar on Shahrukh Khan's role in the movie.
Siddharth Malhotra on his experience working on the project. This guy is definitely the next pin-up boy. Very handsome.

SID S witiness and calmness i like...he is so cool..he ws treated like shit in the promotions as n outsider..but he kept calm and played like an underdog..now he is everywhete and he deserves all the attention..not like an ovetconfident starkid with dabcing acting training..

Alia Bhatt lost 16kg????? seriously how big are these star kids?? how come all of them border on overweight?
even varun dhawan prob needs to work out extra hard given his father and brother are big (predisposed to hold onto weight genetically)

also is that a tattoo on varun's arm?

The guy in the white tshirt is handsome but Alia Bhatt is so plain that it boggles my mind why anyone is trying to make her into a "heroine". WTF?

Anonymous's picture

varun dhawan looks exactly like kunal khemu

Varun is better looking.
Siddhart guy is so not handsome or hot as shown in the film lol. quite mediocre.
Alia plain jane, nothing to impress apart from oodles of makeup, lighting and daddy's name in the film.

Another Joker in line up.

Based on the confidence alone Varun is definitely someone to watch out for, plus he can dial it back and he doesn't go overboard like Ranveer sometimes does. Alia seems to be a nice girl with a sweet personality but I'm sure the popular girl caricature role Karan would've given her would be a tad bit annoying, but I'm looking forward to see her in more normal, grounded roles. Sidhart will probably gain confidence after this movie, I like his voice though.
@PrincessRuchi, I hope not! Kareena was probably the only one who could make Poo endearing and entertaining, the role was so badly written that anyone else would've been super annoying.

karan johar is very funny

Didn't like the nepotism in the interview.. "what did your father think of it?" .. just felt disgusted how kjo asked siddarth that.. comeon.. the other two looked like monkeys.. alia n the other guy.. kjo seriously.. what were u thinking dude?

Anonymous's picture

I love love love Sidharth!!! He is so gorgeous!!!

Anonymous's picture

Disgusting!
They treat the other guy Siddharth as if it was a crime if you come outside of the industry. Dhawan's kid and that Alia look so disgusting. Tell me something - why do these second generation bollywood wannabes have such horrible style?

Karan Johar - you've lost your charm man. Better stick to your Coffee drama or behind the scene thingy.

Awwwww Aalia is a darling!!!! I totally love her after this interview. She comes across as so normal and fun but not ott and overconfident and LOUD like Parineeti Chopra. She also looks so delicate and lady like! Siddarth had some Gud witty answers. Varun deff had the badde Baap ka beta swag! But a good fun cast overall!

I finally realize why I get the Kareena vibe from Aalia. It's cz KJo has given her a very Poo like role in this film.

Hope the movie is a good entertainer which is Karan's best forte. KANK and MNIK was royal bores but this one seems to spell Karan's comeback as the director that made him what he is!

Varun is SO CUTE!!! I wanna marry him!

"I don't even remember what your question was"... love karan.

Karan rarely fails to crack me up. I just enjoy how self-aware he seems. I remember his interview with Anuradha SenGupta after MNIK released (and I highly recommend her Beautiful People interviews - she might be the only journalist who asks the tough, intelligent questions to B-town folks and gets thoughtful answers out of them), and he calmly sat down and dissected the parts of the film that he thought were badly made. How many directors are willing to say, "I effed this up"? Most insist that their film was misunderstood or ahead of its time. He seems like the kind of guy who'd make for a fun friend.
All three newcomers have good, expressive voices. I hope their dialogue delivery in the film reflects that. My pet peeve with a lot of actors, particularly female actors, these days is stilted delivery.
