Here is a sneak peak at Oprah Winfrey at the Bollywood party hosted by Parameshwar Godrej.

I am glad she had a section for A R Rahman. Bollywood more often than not going gaga over a Hollwood/western star is once again proved by Oprah's comment - "I have not had this many pictures taken in god knows how long". Anyways enjoy the video.

Oprah Goes BollywoodThe media in Mumbai, India, called it the "party of the year." Go inside the lavish bash thrown in Oprah's honor by billionaire socialite Parmeshwar Godrej and her husband, Adi. Watch as Oprah experiences Bollywood entertainment and meets India's biggest stars, including A.R. Rahman, the celebrated composer best known for his work on the Oscar®-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

its so funny the way Amitabh, aish, abhi follow Oprah in a queue around the pool like ducklings follow their mother duck.

lol wow towards the end of this video, you can see Farah Ali Khan REEEALLY wanting to take a picture with Oprah. She was literally grabbing and pulling her somewhere. Tsk.

@kitty!
I see the taste of sour grapes "angoor khatee hai"!
you are the one who is obsessive stalker you and other aishloonies abused people for years who refused to accept aish as the most beautiful, most talented, most famous etc or anyone who had different opinion about her, you guys made outrageous claims about her mega nonexistant fame and aish-Oprah's special "bond" and insulted anyone who disagreed with you, now its karma biting you aishloonies back, yours aish's value reduced to zero, Oprah didn't even give a dime about aish and buchchans who were waging their tails behind Oprah. that is so hilarious to watch the way Amitabh than aish and than abhi follow Oprah in a queue around the swimming pool.

Oh wow 2 hours of sleep! She must have been really overwhelmed! Well I was hoping to get a glimpse of the Bachchan house (from the inside) and maybe even a glimpse of the baby but I kinda thought in advance that they would not let the camera crew in. I would like to see the rest of the show eventually if it's available to watch online!

People hate it when the west show the streets, the poverty, the colours, the cows, the baazars of India. But I don't, I get proud, I see the heart, the spirit, the positivity, the real India.

yes i love that real India .....and i am not Indian ..

I read on a different site that the Bachchans didn't allow Oprah's camera in the house, so her camera people had to stay outside. Maybe that's why there's only a picture of them coming out of the house.

PC was looking the best.

Anonymous's picture

and plus the way Parmeshwar has dressed up...why the heck is your hair blonde? You are INDIAN, show some respect to your own country and be proud of your colour, don't go dying it to look like a western 'white' person...this sickens me :/

Anonymous's picture

ha ha ha! Oprah totally ignored aish and Buchchans who were serving her on their hands to get a bit of limelight.

Anonymous's picture

This is so embarrasing! The way all these bolly stars just gather round Oprah like ants...omg! Its like they've met some GOD, funny how they always go so crazy after these rich americans, like come'on have some self respect or some dignity for that matter. The way so many ppl are just like total wannabes here,,,this is the stereotypical image of Bollywood i always thought didn't exist, too bad i saw the reality and it in fact does exist! Urghh hate hate this party...wannabes :|

why Oprah didn't even mention aish in her documentary? aish and fans were hyping opral-aish friendship so much back than like Oprah was making a documentary about her and were bragging how Oprah is the biggest fan of aish and aish have significant influence on hollywood. I can remember Oxygen saying "Oprah will dedicate one whole chapter to aish" but Oprah didn't even mention her or any other Buchchan name in her whole movie and showed the only glimpse of her among the crowd like she is nobody, I only person she spoke about is her host Mrs Godrej and R.A Rehman.
aish and her fans need to stop making castles in the sky and except the reality that she is not that important or famous but ,I guess empty vessels make the loudest sound.

go to own network - the solani family and a slum family got more footage than the bacchans

Anonymous's picture

go to own.com - oprah winfrey network where they telecasted India part 1 on April 22 and prt 2 will be on April29th. Poor Ash was no where to be seen at least in part 1 except th ewhole family being their chauffer. Ash never comes out in public but how she was tailing behind Oprah to get some limelight. She was and bacchans were royally ignored equally by Winfrey and Godrej in the party

and after all this we will hear Ash saying 'oprah is such a dear friend'...infact AR Rahman was given more footage showing his whole music school

Nice party, good to see Oprah being treated so royally. Generally Indians tend to look down upon anybodyof African descent.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know right! I thought Indians didn't like black/ African people and they can be especially prejudiced against them. But Oprah has money and global fame, so I guess they'll make an exception for her :P. How sad.

Anonymous's picture

AR Rahman is a very good composer. But not many people are aware that many of his songs/tunes are copies from the west. Like the songs from Rockstar .. the tunes have been taken straight off from Mexican songs specially Hawa Hawa. It's just sad when I sit with Mexican friends and we listen to their songs and deep within I think, that we Indians need to seriously stop copying every damn tune we find catchy and take credit for it. Some things are just plain morally wrong!

Awesome. Looks like she had a great time in India.

Her pallu is inappropriate.

Anonymous's picture

wow this is pretty awesome!

look at How the Bacchans trail behind Oprah in this clip.

Can you believe it, Sr Bacchan, Bahurani, and Junior Bacchan, waiting on hands (and knees) on Winfrey! Ha!

WHAT a personality she is!!!!!!!!! oprah you are an institution in your own right...the POWERFUL LADY OF THE WORLD HAS COME ALL THE WAY FROM AMERICA TO INDIA AND SHE IS VERY EXCITED TO SEE BETI B

Anonymous's picture

Parmeshwar Godrej is a wanna-be Donatella Versace...which is weird because I don't think anyone really wants to be Donatella. A R Rahman is the only the truely accomplished one here (even without the Oscar/Grammy) his art speaks for itself, the rest of them are hacks who are suriving due to shameless self promotion. As far as Oprah is concerned, I always liked Ellen better...Oprah is too much of a megalomanic.

NewSaw this and I must say that the only humble person who is well-accomplished in his field is A.R. Rehman. The others may call themselves "actors" and I use that term very loosely but they are nothing. The way she introduced Abhishek made me want to vomit! She said he has "acted" (again, I use that term so loosely) in more than fifty movies which she says is more than Tom Cruise. It is not quantity but quality, Miss Winfrey. The guy is only in movies because of his father and Tom Cruise may have acted in fewer movies but his acting is quality and Tom Cruise did not use his parents' names to make it into movies!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I partially agree with you. I'm pretty sure that Oprah has not seen most of Abhishek's movies (if any at all) and if anything, she introduced him so "extravagantly" out of courtesy. Of course, it is quality over quantity but I'm sure that she does not have much knowledge about Bollywood. I don't think Abhishek is a terrible actor (there are far worse in Bollywood) and he manages to pull of intense roles, but other than Dostana and Bunty aur Babli (I may be missing a few), all his characters have that "intense look". He plays the same type of character over and over and I don't think that any of that is working for him anymore. He needs to try different genres of roles.

hay Oprah! where is the tribute to our aish who gifted you the saree you were wearing? thankless cow!

Anonymous's picture

wow! I am surprised that Oprah didn't even give intro of aish or other buchchans who were so hyped to claim to be closer to Oprah she only give contribute to RA.Rahman, where are those aish loonies who were so making claims that Oprah come to visit aish and aish is going to big part of her documentary.

I, however, did get embarrassed seeing that 'bollywood party'. How awkward seeing these celebs or non-celebs fawning over someone. The way that lady was pulling Oprah for a picture like her life depended on it. Weird.

Anonymous's picture

why is that these indian celebs go ga ga when a american celeb comes to india. Its like god himself has come. I want to ask would these american celebs do the same if any of the indian celebs visited america. The answer would simply be no. Its cringeworthy watching bollywood celebs acting like this. Relax, its oprah not god.

How is she doing this with 2 hours of sleep in the last 2 days? i can't even do that at my age and I am a lot younger than her. my body would have given up.
