After viewing the trailer and songs, I don't think any of the lead actors will match up to the success of the original actors: Shahrukh, kajol, etc as none seem to have any charisma or on screen presence enough to make them original or memorable. I'm sure the film will be a success, as its very glitzy and glamorous, but i'm not sure about their future careers. But who knows, in the current industry people such as katrina kaif and imran khan have good careers and they can't act at all

Alia is not that bad in this song.....shes dancing quite well....her outfit is a plus point......she has just started her career with this film....so lets just support......i simply luved varun in this one.....his expressions,moves,looks.......are just awesome.......even sid is cute.....i think sid will get the girl....coz in every song he gets more attention from shanaya.....i wish it was varun.......

Considering the unimaginable opportunities and privileges Aalia has been given, of course as an audience we expect a lot from her. The very fact that such statements have to be used to validate Aalia's non-existent screen presence and awkwardness - she has narrow eyes (lol!), she is new etc. etc. - this tells me that she is batting out of her league and is incompetent. Putting down other actresses by saying they are bad does not change the fact that Aalia appears to have no discernible charisma or acting prowess and is an awkward dancer as well.

I find Parineeti quite endearing, she can go OTT and needs to learn to reel it in but her performance or expressions never seem too forced.
I get that its Alia's first movie but if you compare her to other debutants of this year, like Diana Penty for instance (she completely justified 'tum hi ho bandhu' with her impressive facial expressions/body language) Alia just falls short. Even Sonam knew what to do with her face in Saawariya so first movie isn't much of an exuse but the blame mostly lies on bad direction here.
Those who are saying parineeti chopra over acts really need to stop judging as they are nt so good at it.. the girl got the best debutant award in all award shows.. and if she wasnt good enough then she wudnt have been offered such an intense role of zoya in ishaqzaade immediately after her first film.. she is great as an actress.. but when i look at alia she is no heroine material.. and am not talking about looks.. look wise konkana sen sharma is not breathtaking but when she acts you cant take your eyes off her.. alia is bad.. really bad when it comes to emoting.. i still cant believe why on earth would karan johar chose such an expressionless deadpan face to be the lead of such an ambitious project!!
clunky moves..rigid..awkward...forced..but she should get better. pretty outfit and she looks good but it wasn't graceful. varun looked way more at ease like a professional.
Cmon guys, this is Aalia's first movie and she's only 19. Plus she has narrow eyes which makes it harder to emote since eyes are the main holder of expressions.
@Makeupcritic--this is Aalia's first film, Katrina has been expressionless since her first film and shows no signs of improving
@MysticRose--Parineeti comes off as loud and brash. I think Aalia looks much more delicate due to her frame. I can just imagine Parineeti overacting in this song with her OTT expressions.

This girl is very conscious and it shows in her acting. But, who cares. She is a star kid. Let's celebrate! Varun is a star kid too, but at least he has presence and I believe he can act. He has undeniable charm. Siddharth is so freaking handsome! Let's see how it goes. It's a Karan movie which means over the top, rich kids, and traditionalist Panju culture.
I kept thinking the entire time how Parineeti Chopra would've totally killed it with a song like this, oh well!
What is she doing with her face? Shes probably going for fierce or posh or whatever but its turning out to be unintentionally comical, like shes spoofing someone. I blame Karan and the choreographer for this.

Aliaa does not emote well. Who ever made that awful dress should be shot! Song's average. The problem is Karan has desperately tried to make her look sexy which she is not. He should have tried to bring out the innocence as she is extremely young.
Is it just me or Alia looks like the girl who plays the lead in the hindi show Pratigya? I think neither are pretty but they do look alike

I love Varun, he's so hot!!!! Aliya looks really pretty, and I love her outfit except the skirt, it looks a bit weird. Aliya's dance moves looks a bit messy, and clumsy. I don't really like Siddharth much:/
