Abhishek Bachchan confirms that he & Aishwarya will not be attending IIFA
After a couple of entertainment websites reported that Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan were set to attend the upcoming IIFA Awards in Toronto, Abhishek took to Twitter to confirm that they were not in fact going to attend:

No Bachans at IIFA - BIG DEAL. may be now the awards will be fair. They pretty much controlled who gets nominated and who gets the award. and like it or not - the Bs make it a point that they take home an award for some nomination or the other and for what ever reason they don't then they start sulking - its like I am not playing if I don't get to win.

i'm really upset big b isn't gonna be at iifa. i don't really care for the other two and their big announcements. big b is a veteran and one of the greatest actors in bollywood - he deserves respect, the way iifa treated him was not right at all. big b deserves better, without him in the front row - iifa will definitely not be good.
i'm sad big b is not gonna be there, i don't really care if the other two are going or not, they always want to make big announcements. big b only deserves respect and iifa didn't give that to him, if big b's not in the front row you know that the event's not going to be great. this is not how a veteran actor and one of the greatest actors in bolywood should be treated. mr bachchan has every right to boycott this event.
The way Mr.Bachchan was treated by the IIFA organizers is not done. Why should he or his family support the event anymore? I'm with them.
Anyway we all know all these awards are loads of crap. Why waste time going to Toronto? They better concentrate on their movies than these fraudulent awards.

what is with all these nonsense comments that bachans are the royal couple? thats so stupid. you cant make commoners in a country in which a royal hierarchy does not even exist a "royal couple." 1st they were the self-proclaimed "brangelina of bollywood" and now they are the "royal couple"?? that is so dumb! btw no one even cares about THE actual royal couple (kate/will).....royality is defined by princess diana and end of story. its so sad to see abhi/ash PR trying to proclaim themselves as a royal couple or belonging to a royal family...it doesnt work (look at how it failed miserably with michael jackson)
