@Moimeme
are you mad or what? he is the best brand ambassador. Just look where has he taken the idea brand, up to a new level of popularity. Every common man knows "Sirji" and talks about the idea add. Have you ever seen this level of success for a brand with ay other celeb? SRK, Saif also endorse airtel, hrtik-sony, ranbir also endorses adds, but how much impactful are their products?Does any one talk about airtel or sony becuse ark/hritik endorsed it?

Fri, 2012-02-10 15:17 — Anonymous. Please show me me where these actors have 18 flop films IN A ROW. If it were anyone else, they would had been kicked out of Bollywood a long time ago

You make the best point in support of Abhishek Bachchan's "X" factor by that statement. Yes, anyone else would have faded into oblivion - think of the Fardeen Khan's and Bobby Deol's, launched as though they were a second coming of their famous fathers - but after blazing debuts, they flopped and people stopped wanting to work with them. No one owes anyone anything in this industry except their money making quotient. Even "the" Aishwarya Rai was dropped from campaigns when the sponsors didn't want her any more. If you think producers keep bankrolling Abhishek's movies because of any affinity to the Big B, you have a very poor understanding of the dynamics of the movie business. Or maybe you think, cash-focused producers are saying to themselves - "Chalo I have some crores to lose, let me make a movie with Abhishek Bachchan since he has no talent and since I realllly want to lose some money"!!! Lol.

Abhishek hasn't been "kicked out" so far (and I'm not saying he will never be, but IMO he's a lambi race ka ghoda) because he CAN act, he probably is great to work with and he DOES have an audience that looks forward to his movies and will PAY for the same. The day that stops, they will stop making movies with him - but that day is not today. End of.

Why are you comparing Abhishek with the "holy trinity" of Khans as you put it that way, Imran Khan and Hrithik Roshan? The Khans are the biggest box office stars in Bollywood. Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor have been doing better than Abhishek has ever done. In fact, Ranbir has passed Abhishek from miles. Hrithik has a far better career, filled with Filmfare awards for best actor, than Abhishek. Please show me me where these actors have 18 flop films IN A ROW. Amusing how much of hate Abhishek gets...not that he needs my support but baap re this much of censure is too much! He isn't the best actor I have seen but neither is he the worst. From Guru to Kuch na Kaho to Bunty aur Babli, Yuva - come on - he's done a decent job. When you trash him so badly I really suspect there is some malice/ simple jealousy behind it.

I think Hrithik has hammed in roles like Prem ki Diwani, Yaadein...Imran Khan looks befuddled in I hate Luv Storys, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan...all have had their ewwww roles and acting. And I am not even getting into the "holy trinity" of the Khans and the amount of crap they have been in (though honestly can't fault a single one from Aamir).

My point is - why so much of nafrat against Abhishek? He has shone in some roles and done badly in others. I think the biggest cross for him, just in terms of the criticism he generates, has been that being born in the family that he has i.e. the Bachchan pariwaar just about everybody thinks he is fair game for all their brickbats.

Let me ask you in all honesty - are you saying that your own family has never helped you? Are you saying your parents haven't recommended you for - I don't know -school admission, a job, spoken to their relative or friend to give you some opportunity, your family has not connected you to some friend or acquaintance who helped you get something - be it small or big? Come on! So within our level of prominence and influence, we all try to help out people we know, as long as (hopefully) it is legal and above board. So even if AB and family helps Abhishek - who the heck are we to sit in judgement. Unless of course we are acting all goody goody behind the anonymity of the internet!

From all I have seen and heard of Abhishek - and this is based on interviews just like you guys have based your opinion 'cause I doubt any of us here are best friends with him - my opinion is that he seems a very well spoken, intelligent, decent man, very sensible and frank (just watch his "Love to hate you" interview) and he can be quite charming and has had some great onscreen moments and some not so great ones.

I for one wish him the best. I don't mind seeing him onscreen and I really hope he keeps improving his acting and features in some good films.

i totally agree with u!! i think he has a differnt look from the rest. he doesnt need to flaunt his body to get fans and i also think he's one of the finest actors we ca ever have but the problem is that people set high expections and judge some to quick!

oh please moimeme.
Abhishek has a successful career. As if most of BW isn't filled with films that flop. No one brings up the number of flops Shahid has here.

TOPIC IS ABOUT AB, SO WHY BRING UP OTHER ACTORS??
I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS!!

Hrithik, Kareena, and Abhishek all debuted at the same time. Look at where Kareena and Hrithik are and look at where Abhi still is...

I can't believe brands are willing to take him as a brand ambassador...after all, it's not like he has a successful career or a loyal fan following!
