See the difference? 3) How does Shabana Azmi not being at the peak of her career detract from my point? 4) No, this is not a case of selectively focusing on deranged fans. On Aish posts there aren't just a 'few bad apples,' which is exactly why several people have made that observation below. Is it a coincidence that Kareena and Rani are the only other celebrities who attract viscious comments on Pinkvilla, which are almost ALWAYS in relation to Aish? Why? That generalization is really stupid and illogical. Every star has deranged fans, but at the same time classy fans as well. So if you have more fans, obviously there are more deranged fans. But so are more classy fans. But we only tend to focus on the deranged ones, which is not being neutral.
And Shabana Azmi? Couldn't you have given a a more relevant example? Shabana Azmi is not at the peak of her career. People only care about you when you are important. There were quite a few Madhuri haters back then... but since she has passed her prime, nobody thinks she is as important worth hating on. It is a normal process.

disliking someone because of their fans isn't as illogical as it sounds. a person's fans generally reflect on them in some ways. ever met a deranged shabana azmi fan? no, 'cos it takes one to appreciate one. this is a generalization but there's a lot of truth to it. you get the same effect with a celebrity's PR going OTT - people eventually get sick of it and the publicity backfires. hint, hint :)
