Aishwarya Rai Bachchan led the fashion and glamour stakes at the Dubai World Cup which she attended over the weekend where she presented the award for the Most Elegant Dressed Lady at the event. Aishwarya was present as the Brand Ambassador of watch company Longines which she has been part of for the last 13 yrs. At the event she was the perfect picture of style and elegance keeping in with the Longines tag line ' Elegance is an attitude".
During the Most Elegant Lady presentation ceremony, which Aishwarya presented alongside Juan Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing at Longines, she said: "I am delighted to be here and see such finely dressed women in their hats and beautiful dresses".
Draped in bright red traditional outfit by Indian designer Sabyasachi, Aishwarya greeted the world in a very 'Miss World' style - with NAMASTE and had the crowds clapping in excitement.Her suit studded with shimmering gold, complimented the golden sandals on her feet. The event was attended by over 50,000 people.
During the day, Aishwarya visited a newly opened Longines store in the hotel she was staying and later met various media houses for interviews from different countries including Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, India etc.

One point that I will add, is that she's in the glamour business - she's gotten paid for her looks be it for the pageant, modeling, acting, and endorsements. If Longines is paying her, then she should lose the pounds as it's for work.
Point 2) - completely agree. Another place she's arrogant is in her Cannes interviews.
Point 3) - ugh! Don't even get me started on that. She has a fake American accent on Letterman, a British one at Cannes, and a Indian one on Koffee with Karan.

My opinion is not based on whether she's chubby or losing weight. To begin with, I thought Aishwarya was good looking (back in the days). I honestly didn't think that she was the "most beautiful" woman but she was definitely a contender in the list. But my idea changed quite drastically after watching her interviews and all.
1) Physical beauty - I am someone who likes to stay fit, work out and eat healthy (this is not only for the sake of just looking good but also maintaining good health). I do see other actresses who put in a lot of hardwork into staying fit (through exercises) and eating healthy. No, I do not endorse anorexia but being fit is what I opt for. Aishwarya was never in the league of one of those actresses.
2) She is too arrogant, alongwith hubby Abhishek. I have seen many of their interviews (both separate and together) and arrogance reeks from their answers. I like Amitabh Bachchan and what makes him an even better star is that he is usually very humble about his stature. Sadly, son and daughter-in-law have not inherited that trait. They honestly think that they are the most "hotshots" of bollywood.
3) Aishwarya's fake accent. I'm quite sick of it. If you watch them on KWK (I forget the season but Aishwarya and Abhishek are both wearing all black), she is attempting to fake her accent quite well but at one point "Oh HALLOOO" comes out in her real accent. Aishwarya, it is okay to talk in your normal accent rather than faking one which is quite evident to viewers. Not everyone must have an American/Canadian accent.
I do not like her for various other reasons but these are main reasons. Although, this does not mean that I don't watch her movies. I watched Guzaarish, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and a bunch of other movies of hers and quite enjoyed them. I just do not like her public personality!

If Longines is paying her to make appearances, then it's for work, and she should lose the weight. If you're getting paid millions, there's no excuse for looking like this. If she were just staying at home, then it wouldn't matter.

In my opinion aishwarya rai is a beautiful woman , but definitely not the most beautiful. Not even in her prime was she the ' most beautiful'.
The make-up is a little too much and the dress, it's beautiful and love the color but it's a little overwhelming. Should've been shorter or should've opened up the neck area a little. Of her recent appearances, this one is the best one so far! It's great to see her out and about again. :)
I feel so sad that on 'pink' villa there is so much criticism for a woman who is little chubby, gained weight because of pregnancy and caring for a little baby. Every other comment in there is about 'Fat'. If these are really opinions of women ( some may be not), ladies, try to broaden your narrow minds. There is beauty every where. Criticize if she dresses in a skin hugging clothes which are not appropriate. But, she dressed to her body type and looks classy. Size zero is not the ultimate Beauty. I agree a good body is always great. But just a good body is not all that matters. Aish, Shilpa, Lara, all look pretty with their maternal glow and look perfect to me. For people who argue that this is a fashion trends site and say whatever they want to say, Sure, we can keep the comments strictly about fashion.

Ash fan here and sorry she far from dazzles here. The bulky salwar, pageant-y hairstyle and over makeup does nothing for the stunning Ash. Blindly praising someone brings down the credibility of the commenter. I think Ash is one of the most beautiful women in the world....but here she looks underwhelming.
I think Aishwarya should take care of her figure. If she's pregnant again then it's fine. I think she will announce her 2nd pregnancy at the cannes film festival?! If she's not pregnant I hope she hits the gym.
