Aishwarya is on sabbatical now and her last L'Oreal commercial was released in January 2012, filmed in her early pregnancy months.

The other word for beauty Aishwarya Rai is still the face of international cosmetic brand L'Oreal Paris, as confirmed by the firm.

There was buzz in the town that the Bollywood actress is no more the brand ambassador of the world popular firm and has been replaced by none other than Slumdog Millionaire star Frieda Pinto.

The rumours sparked after Pinto appeared in L'Oreal's Happy New Year television campaign.

However, L'Oreal Paris has dismissed the reports and released an official statement maintaining that Aishwarya is still its spokesperson.

"We are shocked and surprised to read in some sections of the media/press about Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being replaced as the face of L'Oreal Paris," an official statement released by the firm said.

"L'Oreal Paris strongly reiterates that this is absolutely untrue and that Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to be our valued spokesperson, as she has since 2000. While she remains an integral part of the L'Oreal Paris worldwide Dream Team, she was unfortunately unavailable for our New Year commercial shoot due to prior commitments.”

"She is one of the most iconic women of our times and is certainly the face of L'Oreal Paris internationally and in India for a range of products which include campaigns for Total Repair 5, Excellence Crème, Color Riche, Hydrafresh," the statement added.

This is what I've always liked about Ash. She is so strong and powerful and commands her own price, no less than the Khans like the other bimbo actresses.

Why it is such a big deal if this endorsement news is the result of PR or not? Why some people care so much about something as insignificant as this? LOL

I read that Aish is not so keen in taking endorsements because of her post-partum weight gain and wants to get in shape before signing anything...If it's true or not, we shall see. I'm so tired of reading PR PR PR everywhere on her articles. Chill, people. If you don't like her, don't read her news. It's not like someone points a gun at your heads to read some jewelry endorsement article on the Internet.

PR is when some one claims to have got '8Crs' for a film,whereas,the production house retorts that the amount is not even REMOTELY CLOSE(like a Slap on the face).Haha!.Kalyan Jewellers reportedly has a turnover of a staggering 8500 Crs.And they are the one who confirmed that they are offering Ash this huge amount and they wanted a HUGELY POPULAR FACE because they are now looking out for North India.Anyways Ash is the only international Indian face of Loreal and also endorses Longines where I am sure she gets paid a hefty amount..I know It hurts the 'enviers' but can't help it guys ITS TRUE.Instead of sobbing I'll recommend the Enviers/Anons to just MOVE ON n better concentrate on ur stars!! :-D

She'll be a good choice because she'll look gorgeous post-photoshop for the ads but I don't believe the amount. The 10 crore/year figure is probably an invention of her PR. I could believe it if Kalyan had announced that a contract had been signed for that amount.
