Aishwarya Rai Bachchan returns Heroine fee
Credit:dna india Actress Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan has gone ahead and returned a cheque to her producer that was sent to her as a signing amount for the film Heroine. The leading lady had agreed to save the day for Madhur Bhandarkar when actress Kareena Kapoor refused to do the film and no other Bollywood actress was ready to step into her shoes. Kareena is apparently doing the film again, but on her own terms. “Ash was never asked to return the cheque. Senior officials of UTV Motion Pictures were taken aback when the cheque reached them. The cheque has nevertheless been accepted,” says a source. Sources reveal that the film was shot for eight days and Aishwarya was there for the shooting schedule. She also took part in the ‘look tests’ (where the actress is photographed in her filmi costumes). Hence she was within her rights (according to the law) to keep the signing amount and also she could have demanded a part of her acting fees. “Aishwarya didn’t do that. In fact, she was also informed that she is no more a part of the project when ideally the producers could have waited for some months for her. They announced that the film was off and now the film is on again,” says a source close to the actor. Both the production house and Aishwarya’s official representative confirmed about the cheque being returned. “Yes, she has returned the cheque,” said her representative. At present, the relationship between Madhur and the Bachchans have apparently soured to a large extent. However, the same is still on, albeit on shaky ground with the production company, say sources.

Aishwarya is good person & a professional when it comes to work that is why she is admired by everyone. I pray God blesses her more every day for her dignity & maturity she showed in this trying time <3<3.
She already did a few shots for the movie, and she returned the entire amount. That's impressive! I think some of you guys are too harsh on Aishwarya.

I think she returned it because she's pretty pissed at the overreaction of Madhur. There was no need for his antics in the media. Sure he could have been unhappy about the situation but to whine and talk about depression? He doesn't know what depression is.
And how come no one has brought this up? There was a part in Fashion when PC's character refused to sign a pregnancy clause! What was Madhur getting across with this?!!
She is so good natured and big hearted. What a noble and dignified thing for her to do.

Because she is dignified, classy and mature. After all the hullaballu that the director and production company have done, she remained silent and now returned the check. It is her way of saying "i owe you nothing". She already did not in the first place, they are the ones that owed her an appology. And yet they accepted the check back....how low and lame. I am sure Aishwarya could not care less. She is moving into such a beautiful part of her life. God bless her.

you need to open up your eyes... she may have been trying to get pregnant all along, but perhaps it was not happening. even if she did IVF, it's not gauranteed that she would get pregnant, and if she did, it's not guaranteed that the pregnancy would stick. she signed on the film while trying to get pregnant (I truly believe she did IVF for it) and after the 3 month mark, her doctors probably told her it's safe now to tell. She may very well been tryng to get pregnant for last 1-2 years, but she could not put her life on hold till then.
I can relate because I cannot get pregnant naturally, and I'm going to go for IVF, but I can't tell my current or future boss that because I don't know if its going to be successful or not....
please open your mind people, life is very complicated, it's not always black and white for everyone out there.
Totally agree Madhur could have show a little bit of respect for Aishwarya, and to think what she has to deal with. Ohh well don't think he has a hearth they way he cried in public and made a drama. I think she is trying to get pregnant for the last years now!! Also IVF for sure! You cannot tell in the first 3 months because you can still loose it nothing is sure.
