Ash is not doing Ratnam’s next!
Rumour has it that Mani Ratnam and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may not be coming together after all for her post mommy-hood comeback to tinselville. The buzz was that Ash will feature in Ratnam’s take on a renowned 1983 novel, Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Reportedly, she would play the character Mrs. De Winter in the film. Sources on the inside of Mani Ratnam’s camp denied these rumours. In fact, when Chennai Times got in touch with Ratnam’s wife Suhasini, she rejected reports of Ash and Ratnam doing a film together. When questioned about Ash being called in for the role of Rebecca, she said that it was wrong. Suhasini added that Ratnam is presently focusing his all on Kadal that has just a week more of shooting left. Post Kadal, he will take a decision about his next film. Another eight months of writing his script. Hence, any news on upcoming projects by the director are untrue. Ratnam’s spokesperson also confirmed that reports about Ash in Ratnam’s next film were just rumours and that the director is undecided at the moment

Mani Sir is a big name in Bollywood and an icon in South India.. actresses are dying to work with him. he can get any actress he wants. he has not contacted Aishwarya Bachchan for any role. He is busy with a different movie right now.
I cant speak for the other anons, but yeah I agree with the chamchas that all anons are the same *rolling eyes* but definitely the ash chamchas are one person with a multiple personality syndrome or they are all related! Otherwise how can so many people make dumb excuses for her ALL the time

lets face it.. Ash is no Shabana Azmi or Smita Patil to get movies based on her acting. she always got roles because of her face and she can dance well.
but now looking at her size, why would anyone offer her a big movie. it would be a big risk. plus with that weight she will not be dancing well either. both her plus points are gone now.

This is absolutely true! Anytime one mentions that he/she doesn't find her 'the most beautiful' or 'she's just pretty' or mentions that her acting could be better - both a matter of personal perference - they're automatically labeled a 'hater' because they don't worship her like her delusional fans who can't seem to think for themselves. The 'hate' actually comes from her fans who can't seem to get beyond the fact that people will have differing opinions.

Actually Ash is the female version of AB with her fame and connection to the public.
Ash will be a superstar till her last breath. Haters are confused for sure since by clicking they are making her the hugest star.

Why didn't TOI ask them before publishing the actual news yesterday..But Actually this news came from MUmbai Mirror..But I don't know,I think there's gonna be something here..If media had to spread the rumor,they would have just said that Ash's making her comeback with a Mani film or she's doing a film that was previously shelved..But they have mentioned the book and other details about it...Maybe they aren't sure about it like @Wed, 2012-10-03 03:12 — Anonymous says and just maybe talking.Or it could just be complete media imagination and no truth to it at all!lol..who knows?
I would definitely love her seeing work with Mani,he is one of the greatest directors in Indian cinema..And would love Ash playing a super strong role in woman centric film that does complete justice to her talent and just rock it with a superrrb and powerful performance!! But dunno why I am not so keen on this novel adaptation.

Mani Sir refused to be a part of this cheap attention gaining gimmick by Aishwarya and hence his wife denied these reports. Aishwarya should lose weight before dreaming about Mani Sir's movies.
