We asked voiceswriter why Ash is sounding so insecure these days bragging abt hw everyone in the world is chasing her. but voiceswriter has no answer. she can only report statistics on how many views Ash posts get per hour. i guess Ash fans just mute the sound and look at her face. Otherwise how could anyone fail to notice how she uses almost every question as an opportunity to boast about herself, in the most pretentious language ('the very material on celluloid' loll srsly who talks like this)

wow, she really does think she is God's blessing on humanity doesn't she?? Nothing short of calling herself a Goddess....so everyone in the industry, UN...everyone was scrambling and waiting in queue for her precious dates....she had several plum projects yet she chose to be launched by Iruvar.....can't you see its all about ME ME ME...whew!!! To top it all, she doesn't even have the basic skills to answer a question in a straightforward way...Not a single question she answered honestly and to the point....beating around the bush...uggh very diplomatic....perfect for politics.

guys take a breather...just saw this interview and love...love...love what she had to say about being her parents' daughter first as opposed to being handed over a rulebook in the bachchan household...all in all i'm glad that she has FINALLY dropped the whole "all in the family" facade and standing up to herself as an artist and a woman!

No, you listen VOICESWRITER! The only paragraph I wrote was on the the fifth at 20:41. I don't care to waste my time giving long-winded responses to you because you are not worth the time or effort. Paranoid much? I commented on the video only. Who died and left you in charge of what posts people can respond to and who gave you the right to call me "loser, whiny and petty?" I will also take these unfounded attacks to the proper authorities!

Listen troll, I don't have to explain anything to you but I will. I know this is the same anonymous troll who attacked me saying he/she/it lives in a million dollar condo on the beach and wears designer clothing I had never heard of or whatever. Aren't your riches enough for you? Have you no life? Why are you on PV harassing me? And specifically coming into the Aish posts now that you see that I ignore you in every other posts. I do not worship Aishwarya, I happen to be her fan and if I want to post about her I will. If you don't like it you don't have to address me, you don't have to read my comments or whatever just carry on with yourself and I'll do me. Daaaaaaang! I never knew rich people could be so loserly, whiny and petty. Fly to Barbados for a few days or something, clear your mind and stop thinking about me.

Voiceswriter you are so in tune with Aish, can you pls explain to us why she keeps insisting that UN was after her for 10 years whenever anyone asks her about her UNAids job? Why does she hardly say anything about the cause (besides one sentence about the goal) but goes on and on about HER time, HER schedule, HER planning? Like why does she think we care about her date diary? Pls I'm curious because I saw her say this same thing at the UN press conference, another interview at UN with a journalist, the Frost interview, a Longines interview in Singapore and now in Front Row with Anupama.

Pls dont ignore this post Voiceswriter, perhaps you can get a job at UN being Aishwarya's official translator =)

voicewriter not everyone is blinded by ash's glitter. some find her irritating because she rambles pointlessly in interviews and never answers the question, repeats the same phrases over and over, speaks in a put on accent (or "code switching" as yo like to call it) and outright lies (bond roles, bleaching creams,). you never have any reasonable answer to these things so you just cover your ears and keep screaming abt how everyone who isnt impressed by her is jealous. you're no better than the 'haters' you whine about.

Why are you commenting on people post. if you do that , ppl will pick on you.

If people don't like Aish that is their business, not yours.

Aish can be very untruthful , she said during the Frost interview, in Miss World, I was careful about exposing or something in terms of swimsuit. I live abroad and I have been backstage at the fashion shows. No one gets private rooms to change , they all change in front of each others and wear what they are given.

She has exposed so much before Dhoom 2 ....choker bali?

this is what she looks like without glam up make up. Has she ever called herself brown

if you are fan of both ladies , you should know who has gotten appreciated for her acting talents
the most by critics in Hollywood. it is actually Kate Winslet.

At least, Kate Winslet don't try to waste her time with some fake accent and whole gunk of makeup on her face. Or lies I got offered Troy, she was called for reading.

Aish hasn't even spoken about the gang-rape that happened , her husband and her in-laws but she has kept mum about it!

Indian media back lash on her weight was crazy but Indian media is crazy , i just saw the backlash on the Indian cricket team.

That little snippet was from another thread (those who visited it know what I'm talking about) where I pointed out as a fan of Kate Winslet and Aishwarya, I had noticed a lot of similarities between them but this is/was not a commentary on their acting skills because obviously Kate is the better actress and Aishwarya is the greater beauty. I fail to see why people can't just leave it at that? They have to delve into in deeper and over-analyse and just create unnecessary drama. I am a fan of both ladies. All is well.

Thanks a lot for the info on UNAIDS Voicewriter. Do you know the viewership of The Front Row is probably >100 times higher than the number of people who log on to PV to read your condescending responses.
My point in pointing out her narcissism was that she has been chosen to be an ambassador because people do not log on to websites to find their information. She has been approached in order to reach out to people through other avenues. The question was specifically about her experience working with the UN not about how she finally scheduled them in.
But again, thanks for that generic information. You are obviously hip and cool because you use phrases like 'get it girl' in every other post. I'm in awe of you.
My name is Ashley, Ill be signing off on all my posts with that name.

Hi Ashley, nice to meet you and thanks for your comments. LOL, I dunno about being hip and cool but I do like to cheer people on, especially the ones who deserved to be cheered.

Re: The UN conversation...When Aishwarya was announced as the UN-AIDS ambassador for India I didn't even over-think what she would be doing for them, I just referred to all the various celebrity envoys I knew like Angelina Jolie, Annie Lennox, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney & Bono and imagined her job description with respect to theirs because a lot of them are pretty hands on i.e. travelling with the UN to war torn countries, rebuilding, fighting for peace and staging/leading demonstrations etc. but when Aishwarya addressed the UN and in her later speeches/interviews, I gathered that her appointment seemed to be primarily focused on educating the women and children of India regarding AIDS awareness/prevention and/or treatment, so pretty much what we saw her doing back on World AIDS day is what we should expect i.e. visiting hospitals, clinics, slums, schools, orphanages...maybe even brothels in India spreading awareness on behalf of the UN and of course attending annual summits or other UN related functions around the world. She has obviously been recruited because of her immense star power but she cannot do it alone, they need to recruit people like the four Khans in addition, in my opinion and maybe even famous personalities from outside of Bollywood. India's literacy rate is disputably between 60-75% (i.e. can read or write above age 15) with a population of over 1.2 billion that still leaves hundreds of millions illiterate + according to India's 2011 census, only 65% of Indian women are literate, all hands should be on deck.

Other than that, it just continue to amaze me about South Asian lifestyle....being fit is not about going to gym and torturing yourself. Being fit means being active such as doing bicycling, rollerblading, swimming or hitting some balls with family or friends

Aish can dance , she can do that to keep fit....it doesn't mean being size 0 or 2....but being healthy. God, it is like explaining these things all the aunties in my family who just stopped doing activities after getting married and their life revolves around bollywood, parties, and eating with or without kids. Most of them have been told by their doctors to get a move on.

Whenever UNAIDS comes up she talks about how convenient ths appointment is for HER rather than saying anything about the issue itself beyond one or two memorized phrases about UN goals. And I LOLed when she bragged having so many unread scripts lying around for the past year and being 'reminded' to read them by impatient directors, just like she wont shut up about how the UN chased her all the time. At the Longines launch recently she even bragged that David Frost chased her for 4 years for an interview. Its like she is desperate to show that she is still in demand from every quarter. Insecure, much?

Oxygen, Kitty, Voiceswriter, I hope you guys are right in your guesses about Aishwarya's comeback....It does seems plausible that she's guarded because she can't say too much at this point, it would be unfair if things aren't yet ready for an official announcement yet. And it would be awesome if she makes another epic period movie, even with Kjo (not my favorite Hindi filmmaker by far; hope that he's only the producer, and not also the director)

Shes an incredible narcissist. Instead of speaking about the actual work she did for the UN, or may do in the future, she launches in to this ridiculously long answer about how they pursued her long ago and she finally has time for them. I never really liked Anupama's style of interviewing until the PC interview she did last month but damn, I have to say this woman is good. She probed Aish to the point whereby Aish could neither deny (denying would be to insult the directors who know she is sitting on their scripts) nor confirm (confirming before the production team tells her to do so would be unprofessional) her next film, even Frost couldn't do that. Wink*wink Aish, we know how you roll...we expect big news anytime now and I suspect it's not gonna be just one film.

Simple tricks on how to get a simple YES or NO answer out of Aishwarya in an Interview
You have to catch Aishwarya off-guard to get a simple YES or NO answer outta her. Get her comfortable then out of the blue throw something totally alag at her. Notice when Anupama said "when you were doing a Dhoom 3....er 2...did you feel you were changing something." Aishwarya answered: Yeah.
Anupama: (after the between-a-rock-and-a-hard-place question regarding missing films) "Are you reading scripts?"
    Aishwarya: Yes.
Anupama: (Regarding the type of movie roles Aishwarya can play as a Bachchan) Is it not like at the dinner table "let's set rules?"
    Aishwarya: Certainly NOT.
Anupama: But do you see yourself...ever doing something as sort of transversive as sort of like Nishabd? Would you be interested in something sort of really dark and edgy?
    Aishwarya: Well yeah.
Anupama: You said to me that you feel like an old married couple (laughs) and that you fight everyday....so has that changed?
    Aishwarya: No. (Laughs)

Also, I found another similarity between her and Kate Winslet (yup haters, I just don't quit...suck it) when Kate did 'Titanic' she was advised right front and center to do another big film but instead she did the low budget 'Hideous Kinky' and Aishwarya did the same thing following 'Devdas.' :-)

Fantastic interview, I loved it! Anupama did a great job and Aishwarya was awesome. There was something different and unique about it because normally stars come on to promote a film but this was more about her general ideas on life and work, etc... a real treat for fans. @fmlqxt I didn't get the impression that she's not ready to jump into films. I think she just didn't want to talk about any specific scripts (for good reason). Seems to me she's ready and willing to return to work.

I really really really want to see her work again with Rituparno Ghosh and I would love it if she made a film with Vishal Bhardwaj!

Oh and BTW she was super gorgeous in this interview, just so amazingly lovely.
    =================================================================

I think both ritu and VB have offered her films...Some insider told me VB offered her a film called DREAMS which he earlier had planned with Ash n Hrithik..Don't know how true the the thing is..But VB has been approaching her with many films since a lot of yrs.

The interviewer: Anupama is polite, professional, and great at what she does.

The interviewee: Aishwarya never seems comfortable answering questions even after all these years. She laughs nervously and recycles the same words and phrases. First, I guess she went with the Indian accent where she occasionally omits enunciating the letter "r" in the middle of words and completely at the end of words. Second, her constant reference to her "Pa" as "icohnic" (pronounced with a long "o" sound) is, nauseating! Third, she speaks as if she belongs to the most elite movie industry in the world in which they are all "ohbviously ahtists prahcticing their crahft." What a joke! Fourth, I love how when Anupama asked about Abhishek's failures Aishwarya went quickly in to damage control which for her means laughing nervously and giving some BS about how her loser of a husband is some "liberated ahtist practising his crahft with conviction." What a joke! Abhishek is a talentless loser who cannot achieve anything on his own and "ohbviously" needs his father and wife to pinch hit for him. How utterly emasculating!

PV please post! Aishwarya Rai is the least well spoken of celebs - I am again surprised at the limited vocabulary and convoluted way of speaking of a 40-year old veteran of the Hindi film industry. She is always so simpering and greatly annoys with her exaggerated mouth and eye movements. Not to mention the complete lack of self awareness and modesty. A pretty face - nay a beautiful face, but the character and personality are unrefined and inelegant. To borrow from Shakespeare - full of sound and fury, signifying nothing! Aishwarya is all cliched phrases and artificial manners with no substance.
