Why didn’t Madhur Bhandarkar wait for Aishwarya?
News is doing rounds that Kareena has been signed on for Heroine. Before Aishwarya came into the picture Kareena had kept Madhur waiting for about a year because the script had a lot of similarities to her real life. But as soon as Aishwarya entered and left, Kareena agreed at once! Even if she wants to do it now, she does not have dates until February 2012, a time by which Aishwarya would be ready to shoot. Content credit: Box Office India Now we all know that although Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wanted to be a part of the film, director Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV Motion Pictures felt her impending pregnancy would delay the project and both parties mutually decided to part ways. In fact, Aishwarya had shot for a week with Bhandarkar till he and UTV decided to put the project on hold. Things took a turn when there were whispers that Bhandarkar wanted to revert to his original choice, Kareena Kapoor. But here too, there’s a hitch. As we had mentioned two weeks ago, even if Kapoor says ‘yes’, she wouldn’t be able to allot dates till February 2012. This was corroborated in a daily newspaper a few days ago, where Kapoor was quoted as saying, “I’m not going to sign any movies till October. So the question is: If Bhandarkar has decided to wait for Kapoor, why didn’t he do the same with Aishwarya as the actress will deliver her baby in November? Couldn’t he resume shooting with her in February since he and the producers are willing to wait for Kapoor till then anyway. Hmmm. Official statement from UTV Motion Pictures on Heroine (June 28, 2011)We would like to put an end to the speculative and factually incorrect stories that are doing the rounds on Heroine, and to clarify the position on the film once and for all. At this point, nothing is more important than Aishwarya’s well-being and good health. In that context, we have all mutually agreed that the best step would be to avoid shooting further, rather than proceeding with an incredibly demanding schedule over the coming months. Even as we will truly miss this opportunity to work with Aishwarya, the entire unit wishes her the very best for the exciting time ahead as she and Abhishek move into this special new phase in their lives.

Sujata, it's not your place to decide who Aishwarya works with. She couldn't care less what you thought, because she doesn't even know you exist. She's not your lover, remember? She's married to Abhishek, I think you should accept this fact now.
Arre baba.. if this was some other actress.. would you be giving such a hue and cry? no! He didn't want Ash.. he dropped her first chance he got.. and if someone like Katrina had done the same as Ash, she would have been considered ungrateful and all... Aishwarya is a very talented woman. She lost an opportunity to act in one film, and got something better! A Baby.. I'm sure a woman who's approaching her 40's would be willing to scrap any movie for the chance of having a baby! She must be very happy to stay at home for a while and safely deliver a baby, it's quite hard at that age, and she really shouldn't take risks.. She mustn't fight with a younger actress who still has a few years before she jumps into a similar situation, let her be the bigger person and let Bebo do the role.. it was meant for her anyway...
@Gupta44! I do agree with in Pink Panther Aish has only guest appereance but her PR created such a hype about it.
ash is the best & i love her acting....
@anon! ha ha ha!in Pink panther her role is only 2 minutes and rest of her English movies were low budget super flop, none of her movies get commercially successful, she still remain anonymous for the audience of none Indian cinema and notice how she stopped getting offers from none Indian movies after 2006 and in spite of having most powerful management in abroad she failed to get any offers from Hollywood.
kareena's acting is so loud and over the top. where ash is more natural..i want to see ash in the movie
Ash is certainly very very ambitious. Career is super important to her. i mean she was willing to do Heroine whilst 4-5 months pregnant, just goes to show how much she cares about her career.
will have to wait and see if it changes after the baby. most women (if they dont have financial issues) will spend maximum time with new born child and not worry too much about work.
So i think it is fair that Madhur didnt wait for Ash.
@gupta44..so Pink Panther was a c grade english movie is it? it was not a success, i agree but it certainly wasnt in a C grade category..! I know your'r probbaly going to say its a one off thing movie..then what about Last Legion..again another unsuccseful movie at the box office but it had Colin Firth and Sir Ben Kingsley in it..would you call it a C grade english movie..i couldn't care less what her role or her depth of the role or her character of an indian woman is in the movie, nonetheless i would not think the 2 movies i mentioned are C grade..If you want to bring in Mistress of Spices, Bride and Prejudice and Provoked (incidently, she acted incredibly well in this, and it went unnoticed..) Mistress was by Paul Mayeda ( Gurinder Chadda's husband) and it was about an indian woman..anyway Dylan MCdermot was there..c grade actor in your books i guess..
and Bride was by Gurinder Chadda and Provoked by an Indian director..was all about an India..i dont have to explain all this of you are well aware of. So at the end all indian actors are never revered like the Chinese oness.for eg..Jackie Chan, ChowYuen Fatt, and the rest..For eg..SRK and Amir would def do well in a Hollywood movie too at least in my opinion..Indians never get a chance..so crossover movies are refereshing to see our Indian actors going across to act..i welcome it..and Will Smith may have not directed Hancock but he said it that they had considered Ash and offered her but she she could not do it..Same story with Hitch..

@anan! Hancock is the film by Peter Berg and how can Will Smith offer a role when he was not the casting director of Hancock?? The role of Hancock required a blond actress that is why it was offered to Charlize Theron, Aish's PR please make stories which are believable.
Let me tell you Aish never been offered any decent role from Hollywood, she worked in c grade English movies like mistresses of species, provoked, bride and prejudice. all of these movies were directed by Indian directors and roles she played were all atypical Indian women.
kareena will still never be able to touch aish's success ppl. lets how many offers she gets when she is aish's age and pregnet. one film dont mean nothing

on the other hand kareena had shown her acting talent in dev, kurbaan, chameli, jab we met, and she was also irritating in k3g or g3 but that was due to the reason that either her role demand such or the movie was such...but i never got irritated with her acting...as she was irritating only when movie demand so...and that's what is acting......hope aish fans soon understand the meaning of acting..and start getting attracted towards natural things rather than plastic........lol
Madhur is so silly. Why cant he just wait for Ash. She is the only one who would do justice to this role. Its just so tailor made for her. She will justify it. If he had half the brain he has, he will just wait until Ash returns from her post pregnancy. Stupid Madhur.
@Gupta44..she was offered Hitch and Hancock..Will Smith said it himself. Its her schedules that did not match. Please before making sweeping statements, get your facts right! I am not siding Sujata or whatever but this story is true.

Ash is just an entertainer like every other actor...pay them, get entertained and then focus on your own damn life. I pity people like u. let me correct to you Hancock was never offered to Aishwaray Rai, it is just made of story by aish'PR, in fact Aish worked only those Hollywood/ none Indian movies where director was always Indian and characters she played was a indian person.

MakeupCritic, we all know Madhur stopped the film because he felt a pregnant Ash could not do the film. Then why do you love taking digs on her saying the director was unsatisfied with Ash? Much better directors like Mani Ratnam, Bhansali, Rituparno Ghosh etc. have repeated Ash so many times in their films. That just tells the belief and faith they have in Ash's talent and ability to deliver. I know you are a Rani fan but no need to take digs at Ash. Even I can take digs on Rani by visiting her posts but I never do.
I couldn't care less whether she does the film or not. But if we think about it, Madhur Bhandarkar has no class in the way he dealt with this. He didn't have to make it a public issue, especially something so sensitive like pregnancy. Films get delayed every now and then. It's common. And it was he himself who delayed the film because he wasn't organized with his dates. So he himself delays the film and he himself acts like a victim? All for cheap publicity. Talk about douchebags. So I'm sure Ash refused to work with him and that's why he went to Kareena again.
I don't want Aishwarya to work with someone like him. She turned down international blockbusters like Hancock without battling an eyelid, what is a small budget film like Heroine? His loss. *Shrugs* This is a great time in a woman's life and I am sure Aishwarya is enjoying it. She deserves the best and she is getting that.
And please don't insult Aishwarya by comparing her with someone like Kareena. If she is doing this film good for her. @Kareena fans, please stick to bitching about Priyanka. Don't even enter Aishwarya's radar.
