she is a legend here in india, you know every streets you go,if you see a jewellary shop, beauty parlour its always her face in the poster...she is everywhere...no indian actress has been that much popular
I hadn't realized she'd been titled by our ex-monarch, the Queen of England. Yet another nod of approval from our European masters, yet another reason for India to rejoice. Oh and thank you for educating the masses on the concept of avant garde european fashion. i suspect the indian commoner and slumdog alike here all agree that you can't dress up as a gigantic bird in real life.

"OMG thats high fashion! str8 from europe.. but i guess you common ppl wont understnad"
yes. us commoners won't really understand the hi-fi fayshion from europe. since you're a high-class, non-commoner, up market type, please explain to the commoners/peasants the high fayshion of our white rulers from europe. thanks much."
Explaination- there are many types of dresses that are designed by top notch designers. some of them are developed from a fragment of imagination whle some are inspired from history.. it depends from one designer to another, as well as on the trend thats already there or in some cases (extra- ordinary designers) go beyond and start a new trend by putting a stop to current trend.. this particular dress that Lady Aishwarya is wearing is called
AVANT GARDE genre dress - Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm. The notion of the existence of the avant-garde is considered by some to be a hallmark of modernism, as distinct from postmodernism.
in simple words its on the ramp dress rather than off the ramp dress( only rarely u'll find someone wearing it in real life, like sum of them are sayin wear it for cocktail, and kiddinish stuff etc) but again i guess u "common people" wont understand. definitely need a bigger spectrum of imagination and to push the boundaries seem impossible for u.
rest i really like the cover. Lady Aishwarya is adorned here in Paris, Cannes and Champagne(France) and yes we do care about Lady Aishwarya more than any dress!!!

Can someone post what the men in her life have to say about her??
we don't want to see European dresses.. we want to know what's in their minds.. we care about Aishwarya more in any dress.

Hey u know what, u are saying that indians were laughing at ur top knot hairstyle, u know why, becuase maybe it is a fashion in America NOW, but it has been in practice since ages in india, and only Sages and hermits wear that top knot in india, that is why maybe they found it ridiculous, u can check it for urself!! Ya and u are right, indian's are never going to accept this fashion, as it is a bit sacred hairstyle for us.
And please dont be under the misconception that indians learn style later on, there are a lot of fashionable people in india! And as for this highfashion feathered costume, before british entered America, red indians wore highfashion feather costumes only, at that time u pilgrims felt it was ridiculous and now u follow the feather costume after all these decades, u ppl are the ones who learn style later on !!!
(I hope my comment gets posted)

because it's Aishwarya, there will be thousands of people clapping. if this was anyone else, she would have been laughed off town in India FAST.

OMG thats high fashion! str8 from europe.. -->
yes, this is the reply you can keep giving when you wear this crow-costume to your next cocktail party and people are asking why you're forgetting it's not haloween... well, it takes all tastes and types...
Sun, 2011-01-30 09:11 — Anonymous
it would be nice of India's cover Vogue would feature more Indian designer stuff..
Aishwarya could have looked lovely in some local dramatic dress - and way better than this.
disagree with the crowd... this seems to be one of her worst covers-- she looks like she has a fever and very tired of wearing a crow costume.
she is too pretty and too good for this.
Sun, 2011-01-30 09:09 — Anonymous
Aishwarya - good.
Dress-- bad.
if it's European high-fashion, then by all means, keep buying your bridges from the foreign crowd.
frankly, India has much better dresses right in the streets of the pooerest locations... what is this 'high fashion from Europe' and we must like crow dresses???
go ahead and try to wear this dress to your next cocktail party.. just try it. you will be the joke of the decade..
perhaps it's meant for 'dramatic effects' only, but whatever.. India can do dramatic dresses (yes, like peacock costume dresses) waaaaaaaaaayyyyy better than this.
another example of how we Indians will like the lowest coal if it's foreign and throw dirt at our home-grown diamonds.

-> Aishwarya has reached a height and $ level way more than all 3 of them them combined!!! Kareena and Deeps are lovely, but come on.. do you think they can or hae acheived as much as her?? One of them is just a new starlet that you mentioned and doesn't even have any cheekbones to speak of, and only goes by the laurels of her fair-color and figure. well, maybe some people like low cheekbones to cuddle-- it takes all tastes and types! how is she getting in this comparision game??
At least Aishwarya has fantastic features and does not rely on the lack of melanin factor to be a 'star'. even in looks , she eclipses them all.
she would probably NOT want to go near your bf either, so tell him not to worry.. they must be way out of league of each other.

The costume looks scary!! it really looks like a crow, what is so high class fashion about it?? if she wld have worn peacock feathers instead of crow feathers the costume would have looked better I think, LOLOL at the costume, such a dumb costume, if this is HI-END EUROPEAN FASHION PLEASE LET IT STAY IN EUROPE AND NEED NOT COME TO INDIA!! hehehe.
Wow I love the cover.. so different, love the concept. The lighting everything is perfect.. really internationally done.. And Aishwarya looks beautiful..

Im american and i recently visited india, and many of the girls there even my own cousins would laugh at my hair and clothing style, things that are considered normal or fashionable in america, looked funny to the girls in india for some reason.
I use to do my hair in something called a top-knot its when you dont want to overstyle and just make a bun on the top of your head, this has been seen in vogue magazine and on the runways of fashion shows... anyways girls in india thought i looked ridiculous and funny.... sometimes indians learn styles later on, or they dont accept something because its not yet a trend in india. so this outfit is definitely highfashion and reminds me of the black swan film, in america this would be normal to indians commenting on this site this is weird.
