After yesterday's knock out Day 1 appearance, which was given a thumbs up by fashion critics all over (including the Indian designers). On the 2nd day, they seemed to have been wowed by her even more. Check out the even more glowing reviews she received for her day 2 appearance, where multiple critics called her the best dressed of the day. This will be her last red carpet appearance at Cannes this year.

Flare Magazine - "Our pick for best-dressed of the day was Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, who looked striking in an Armani Privé gown with a sculptural white bodice and a navy satin skirt. With this kind of glamour on tap, we're sad that Rai is said not to be attending the Indian International Film Awards when they're held in Toronto next month. "

Style Bistro - "Aishwarya Rai’s red carpet gown showed off her curves and great height amazingly. Along with Aish’s sophisticated Armani Prive gown, her makeup was also worth-admiring. The diva opted for shimmering eye makeup sporting glitzy dark blue and gold eyeshadow. She went for flawless makeup and shiny lips. ‘Provoked’ actress accessorized the look with a pair of diamond earrings, two rings and a bold bracelet watch. Aish was also carrying a smart clutch and looked every inch the icon that she is. Very beautiful, Aishwarya Rai wore her hair in a slicked back style by sporting a pinned up messy ringlets updo. Aishwarya Rai’s hairstyle was trendy and sexy. On the whole, Aishwarya Rai 2011 Cannes day two look was prefect and head-turning."

Hello Magazine - "Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai, meanwhile, looked spectacular in a white and navy Armani Prive gown, gracefully carrying off the asymmetrical design with ease."

Japan Times - “Aishwarya Rai should not be allowed in public without an entourage of paramedics. Surely one cannot gaze at her for more than 10 seconds without sunglasses. Put her next to anything — a building, a palm tree, a man — and they all start to look ridiculous. If there is a flaw in her beauty, it’s that there is too much. The senses can’t handle it. Circuits go out of whack, fuses blow and one is left to gape, stupidly, while several million brain cells sizzle and melt away.”

Roger Ebert, World's biggest movie critic tweeted - "I don't usually tweet photos of beautiful women. But when they're Aishwarya Rai at Cannes... and tweeted this link. Btw, it was Roger who called Aishwarya as not only the first but also the second most beautiful woman in the world. :)

The Fashion Spot - "Dazzling in Armani Prive was Aishwarya Rai in a look from the designer's Spring 2011 collection." And they also mentioned her in their Best Dressed list.

Red Carpet Fashion Awards - "I think I may have found my Cannes Queen for 2011. Aishwarya Rai looked spectatular as she made her way onto the red carpet tonight for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival “Sleeping Beauty” Premiere. She is working the hell out of this Armani Privé Spring 2011 gown. So much so that she’s leaving me quite speechless with her poise, grace and beauty."

Public.fr - "With a dress modern, no question of falling into the trap of traditional jewelry. A large watch on his wrist, heavy design and voila! It is a real risk-taking on the red carpet must be commended ... As make-up, blue and yellow dashes meet in eyeliner on upper and lower lids to illuminate Eye color block trend this summer. Sculptural, modern and trendy, Aishwarya Rai is just the queen of the red carpet tonight!"

NDTV - "Day 2 saw Aishwarya Rai in a stunning Armani Privé dress and a bold bracelet. Aishwarya completed the look with her trademark smokey eyes.

Zimbio.com - "Aishwarya Rai stole a red carpet today. She didn't roll it up and take it with her, but she might as well have. No one else could compare to Aishwarya's red carpet look at the premiere of Sleeping Beauty Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya was wearing a white and blue gown as she posed for photographers with her hair pulled back tightly. The dress had a unique cut with an asymmetrical bustier that rode on top of one hip and below the other."

Divanee.com - "The dramatic two-toned dress with sharp edges is a definite departure and boy do we approve. Moreover she is working the hell out of the dress and knows she looks good. The hair is a tad too prom for our liking (just a bun or again a slick ponytail would have sufficed), but this is a sign of exciting things to come. Yes."

Roman Press - "First appearances that have delighted the eyes of prezentii were marked by Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek, Aishwarya Rai, Rachel McAdams and supermodel Karolina Kurkova."

Huffington Post - "Aishwarya Rai stunned in an asymmetrical, strapless gown."

Arrebatadora.com - "The second night was the premiere of "Sleeping Beauty" and I'll show you the look of one of my favorite celebrities, the stunningly beautiful Aishwarya Rai. The dress she wears is an asymmetrical Armani Prive Spring 2011 collection. The version seen on the runways was the color of steel, but I much prefer blue and white, which enhances your curves, especially the different textures of the dress, silk finish in the top and a bit more mate skirt. The messy, tangled hair - messy, tangled hair. I do not know what to think ... Sometimes I like and sometimes not."

Spanish Press - "Well what about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is always gorgeous, the way things are today even more than yesterday, more modern."

Sawf News - "Aishwarya Rai looked exquisite in a navy blue and white Armani Privé Spring 2011 strapless gown at the premiere of Sleeping Beauty. Aishwarya carried off the asymmetrical look of the train gown with aplomb. The sharp contrast of blue and white flattered her curvy figure. She wore blue eyeshadow matching her dress color. Golden nails and nude lipgloss rounded her jaw dropping looks.

Rediff - "Aishwarya wows critics and fans at Cannes. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received rave reviews for her first appearance at the ongoing 64th Cannes Film Festival. And just when people thought it couldn't be topped by anything, Mrs Bachchan turned around and outdid herself with this look! Some of the critics have even named Ash as the best dressed celeb at the film festival so far. Too bad this is her last appearance at Cannes this year as the actress is headed home."

P.S. - If you guys find any more reviews (either positive or negative), please post in the comments box, I will make sure to add it up here. Thank you.

Japan's time described her best :)

Anonymous's picture

She looks great. Her body is awesome. She is fit. Just not SKINNY. Is that a crime? Gosh

Anonymous's picture

i agree with Anchal. She does not have the body anymore to carry off this type of outfits. She must tone up those hips, but and arms..her puffy cheeks spoil her beauty. All in all her extra baggage on her makes her look plump and tired.

I just checked out Roger Ebert's tweet and the link... nice! :) BTW the link that he gives is for Style Bistro and they call Aishwarya the best dressed at Cannes! Pretty cool of Roger Ebert to post the link, huh? Now don't tell me that Roger and Style Bistro are both Aishwarya's PR guys! Hahaha

Anonymous's picture

Can someone please post the interview of her with Jonathan Ross. I liked the interview & think she gave pretty smart answers there. As we all know she's quite an 'intellectual' as compared to the rest of Bollywood actresses.

Just because you haven't heard of others don't make them non-existent. This is the world press. Do you have any idea about the French Press? No. Then don't speak!

This is what Robert Ebert- the renowned film citic, tweeted, while he posted a pic of ash on the red carpet Day 2 Cannes - "I don't usually tweet photos of beautiful women. But when they're Aishwarya Rai at Cannes"

Just read this one. I thing it rightly describes the Ash-effect:)

Quote by Kaori Shoji, Japan Times -

“Aishwarya Rai should not be allowed in public without an entourage of paramedics.

Everyone becomes middle aged some day or other girl. What matters do we still look good and graceful when we hit middle age.

Anonymous's picture

Other than NDTV and Huffington Post I have never even heard of these other websites! That does not make these websites a "fashion critic."

Hope Madhuri's fans sees this!
They are deceiving theselves by calling her the most beautiful woman when we have the likes of Ash
Madhuri cannot even do a cats walk despite the fact that she was a failed model
