Aishwarya Rai - weight issues? *Updated*
As you all know, Aishwarya has gained quite a lot of weight recently. A few years ago she was super fit, and now she is far from it. My problem is, her extra weight is photoshopped and liquified and chopped off in photoshoots for magazines and ads. If she really wants to look slim, why not hit the gym and lose the extra kilos instead of having her body photoshopped? People have a problem when someone is lightened because the dark skinned girls who see those pictures would feel inferior and lose confidence. But then, when a not-so-fit Aishwarya is suddenly turned into a skinny woman in a photoshoot, what effect does it leave on the not-so-fit girls who see her as inspiration? For example in the first picture, to the left you see Aishwarya coming out of the studio after shooting the L'Oreal ad. And to the right you see how she looks in the ad. Shocking isn't it? Also, for a top actress like Aishwarya, her body is in quite a bad shape. Just look at the pictures for reference. For someone who has all the luxuries, trainers, dieticians in place, I wonder why is Aishwarya neglecting her exercise and is constantly gaining weight. Why doesn't she have a problem when her pictures are photoshopped to make her look thin as opposed to her current figure? When older actresses and some even mothers like Karishma, Malaika who don't even have work in their hands are super-fit, what is stopping Aishwarya from becoming fit? Update: I don't know if it is the impact of this article, but ZoOm TV just tweeted "Aishwarya has reportedly been asked to lose weight for her upcoming film, Heroine."

Hehehehehe! Have to hand it to Schmuck.....good post esp the first picture. However, I'm no fan of Ash, I think she's such a crap actress BUT in her defense, she looks good in the unaltered picture. She's not that fat the way people are making it out to be!

this is so stupid! now ppl know the reason for the weight gain. she was pregnant. plus its really not her fault if they photoshop her pix. they do it to models all the time. they don't have a say so.

A life spent constantly making sure that you are thin enough suits some people, but having a baby might have changed her perspective on this.
Let the woman enjoy motherhood, and enjoy being herself, whatever size she chooses to be.

Aishwarya's look for Dhoom 2 was real, it wasn't done with technology to deceive the audiences or anything so this tells us it is achievable for her she worked very hard to lose weight for that movie. And she said she would never be that thin again so don't get your hopes up. I looked her body in Dhoom 2 though I have to admit, but that's ok. After marriage she got bigger. It's not that her weight is a real problem, but it's noticable and I think losing a couple of pounds and toning herself especially her arms before making another public appearance won't hurt.
Women gain weight as they get older, thats a fact. Stop judging and bashing a woman who just gave birth for god's sake!
Ash has been overweight for last 2 years. but somehow when she got pregnant, she continued to look same. only face got swollen. but other than that she looked same.
Come on, guys. The woman just had a kid! It takes a year sometimes to burn off the extra wait you gain ALL over your body when pregnant. And I know plenty of celebrities make a point of coming back to work within a couple weeks and spending hours in the gym to get back to how they were, but obviously some women might prefer to spend time with their new baby for a bit first. Seems logical to me.
She's also getting older and, as most women do as they get older, is now more susceptible to weight gain.
I wouldn't say she looks particularly bad in any of the 'fat' pics. She's lucky that she tends to gain weight all over so maintains a good, proprtionate figure (see 3rd set of photos), and doesn't gain weight on her face.

The fact that she has been tagged the most beautiful woman in the world, she is underscrutiny for any weight lost or weight gain, zit or anything that us normal human beings go through in our lives. She has brought this upon herself. Many professionals opt out against photoshopped pictures and as she is always talking about being "genuine", "real", "traditional", of course everybody out there expect her to deliver. Truth is from what is enfolding with how she is changing with time and her movies, she is just like any human being out there.
BTW She still looks good. The first picture where she is holding her hair does look good? Y photoshop that?
From another article I saw that she takes like 4 hours to get ready before her shoots with hair and make up and all and when she is asked in interviews how she looks so beautiful and you know the usual mind numbing media questions, she makes it sound like she woke up looking like that in the morning.
Now it is our responsibilty to be respectful towards her and everybody else around us. She may be a role model for many, but for me she is a model and a woman just like many.

Totally agree with u! The arrogance with which she moves around as the most beautiful girl, she will obv face flak for being fat. Take it or leave it, she is fat and she should be fitter.

Whoever is writing this article needs to first 1) get their eyes checked...and 2) get a life. Bashing someone who is never going to respond...is mature...real mature. Sure this is a pedistle for you to state your opinions, but this is taking it too far. How about you post a non-photoshopped picture of yourself somewhere on here and we'll argue. Ash looks healthy for once, and the fact that you can't stand that is sickening. Yes, she has gained weight, but is no means fat. You have to keep in mind that she is no longer the same age she was 5 years ago... if she wants to exercise she will... you are no one to bash her. I think she looks gorgeous. I don't understand how people so ugly like you on the inside ( and outside probably, or else you wouldn't even think of insulting someone to this extent) could be so regardless....not like you look any better? Ash doesn't have to work out for the benefit of perverted people like you. Its sickening how all of you think. Hi Sonam, thanks! :) @ Naveed, it looks like you and some others have misunderstood my comments... look, this article indicates that "fat fraud" Aishwarya is the one who controls the photoshop in her ads because she "wants to look slim". I have disagreed and given an example of a celebrity that has indeed done that, due to creative and financial control of the project. If my choice of examples offended you, it was not my intention. But if Shmuck wants to find a celebrity to blame for purposely distorting their body image in the media, in images that THEY THEMSELVES have released (for a home production, etc), I'm sure that he can find a better example than Aishwarya. Of course, everyone has a bias, so easier said than done! ;)

I find this article belittling as a woman myself all of us ladies weight fluctuates, Nothing to be ashamed of Aishwarya was thin most of her life I feel she may be taking fertility medicine to get pregnant. She is a great example & role model for girls .She came into the industry without any ties & she became a icon and she acquired the most beautiful woman tag with the Miss world crown so no on should talk about her unless you have achieved half of what she has. It is easy to judge but hard to understand. I feel Aishwarya can carry this current weight she still luks gorgeous & Bollywood directors have no apprehensions about her star power or signing her up they have asked Anushka Sharma & many others to lose weight but not our dear Aisshwarya & that goes to show the power of Aishwarya . I am praying that God blesses her with a baby soon <3<3 <3.
@ bebo_pclover20 - I have not read any of the comments except on this page. I noticed you addressing kitty so I looked for her initial comment which is on the second page I believe. I would never have bothered but our dear kitty loves to bring Salman or others when there not required. Hey atleast it provides entertainment for people like me. I am easily pleased/amused :)
Btw I guarantee you in Bodyguard Salman will look his best since probably Partner. I have followed the whole shooting as much as I can via twitter.
@ Naveed - i definitely i agree for a guy of salman's age, he has a fantastic body. i was trying to get the point across that this is an ash thread and she somehow manages to salman in yet again. no matter - she is clearly fascinated by him. i'm sure salman would take it as a compliment - that's what i was wondering...why would she go and watch salman's film if she hates or doesn't like him?
I'm not sure why there's so much sensitivity to this post. Hello! Aish has definitely put on some major weight and she looks quite bloated most of the time. I'm a big fan of hers but I'm willing to accept that she has put on some major kgs!!!
