Bride and Prejudice named among the Ten Best Wedding Films
After Devdas was announced among the Ten best films of the millenium by the TIME magazine, here is another reason for Indian cinema fans to rejoice. Bride and Prejudice has been included among a list of the 10 Best Wedding films of the world by The National newspaper. Here is what it had to say about the film. If you are a true film buff, you'd know by now that there is no similarity between Pride and Prejudice and Bride and Prejudice except for the fact that they were made based on the same book. Pride and Prejudice the film was just what was shown in the book. Whereas B&P was a Bollywood adaptation. The Indian-American connection built in the movie was unique and creative. And it would not be wrong to say that it was the first English movie which brought the Western audiences closer to Bollywood and made it popular... much longer before Slumdog Millionaire.
WOW! aish is not doing anything for 1.5 year but her films are making her and her fans proud...... firstly her devdas was listed in an international list then came the news that robot is making new records in japan and now this....... congrats to the team

B & P was a decent movie...and ash did a great job...but we all know the movie wasn't a "SUPERHIT' like you are saying...so stick to the facts.praise ash,but not falsely!

Oh no! Bride and Prejudice was such a BAD adaptation of Jane Austen's novel! The BBC series version of Pride and Prejudice and the Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen versions were so much better! I really liked the KK-MM cinematic version! It was beautiful! Bride and Prejudice on the other hand was pure noise and confusion!
I absolutely LOVE Bride and Prejudice! My Big Fat Greek Wedding needs to be higher up on the list, atleast higher than the dorky and overacted Wedding Singer! Aishwarya made a lovely Lizzy (Lalita) but the movie was more of an ensemble romantic-comedy with Anupam Kher, Namrata Shirokar, Naveen Andrews, Indira Verma etc so praise Aishwarya all you want guys but don't take away the credit from the star cast! I loved the song and dance sequences and the romance was subtle but beautiful.
Aish rocked in this movie.....she was wondrful....
@falling star Yes,Ash was adorable!The film was a huge HUGE success and earned thrice more than its budget.And topped the Uk box office charts for the whole week.Its all the Aishwarya Rai-magic! haha! I mean no other actress could have brought the sensitivity and poise to Lalita,and express it so well.Nicole Kidman has mentioned it that she became a huge fan of Ash after watching the film.And that she absolutely loves the film! :)
i dont watch weding movies that much but i did
watch B & P and i liked it pretty much so congrats to the team and cast :)

LOL! This film was hilarious. My friends here whenever they talk abt Ash since they cannot pronounce her name well, refer to her as the Bride and Prejudice chick! lol

Bride and Prejudice was a fantastic film. It has a very good repeat value. Whenever it comes on star movies I watch it every time. She looked ethereal in that film. I loved that Snake dance by the way! lmao. It was funny!
Its awesome that this film was included in the same category as Mamma Mia which had Academy Award nominations!

Ash is UNIQUE!!India's pride.Hope she does more HW films instead of turning them down..Bollywood doesn't deserve her a bit.She's way too good in every department.

okey haters, i know you will start bashing her and the movie by saying "the movie was bad, it was a flop, it was stupid , aish was not good in the movie..... blah,blah" but the reality is the movie was acclaimed and so was her performence and most importantly, it was a hit!

Thats fantastic!Bride and Prejudice is a film that was immensely loved worldwide.No wonder it was a SUPERHIT worldwide.It was a complete Ash film.The success of the film,the story--everything relied on her.She was so expressive,adorable and outstanding in the film and not to forget her irresistible beauty!She makes us all proud!Good for Monsoon wedding too.
