Madhuri Dixit is the biggest female star of the 90's (ever!), But who will be known as the Biggest female star of this decade(2000-2010)? Personally, i think it should be Aishwarya Rai as she has always stayed on the TOP regardless of hits or flops. She has always been relevant. And at 35 is still doing great with films form Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Vishal Bhardwaj, Mani Ratnam, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan. NOt to mention she has the ever useful Bachchan last name.Whether you think she deserves it or not, She is also the most celebertaed actress of this generation. Rani Mukherjee is also one of the contenders as she has been around for a while and has delivered good films. But she was low in the early 2000's and is again low towards the end of the decade. Preity Zinta is another candidate who has had a great innnings but has faded in the past few years. Among the younger lot, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have actually achieved something noteworthy. Priyanka has not done a lot of great work and has not been around for that long. The decade is ending. Kareena Kapoor has just hit her peak after Jab We Met, before that she was not much. So, who do you think? Aishwarya,Rani, Preity, Priyanka, Or Kareena? I think either Aishwarya or Peity....

I think the year 1995-2000 was FULL of good actresses, almost every actress was better than the actresses today.
I dont want to mention Priyanka Chopra or Kareena Kapoor, who gets selected in the movies these days..because there is nobody else better than them...NOW at the moment...
oh forgot to mention Karishma Kapoor - she was great in some of the greatest movies!...Love her comedy roles and Obv not to mention "FIZA"...as a strong girl!
I don't know about superstar and all. Aishwarya is a good actress + a fabulous dancer + a great beauty + is the most popular of all the actress + international recognition + married and close to 40 but still getting great films and delivering great performances (Guzaarish most recent outstanding performance for which she picked up quite a few awards as well).
So I will say Aishwarya.

okay this post has all the actress in the their best roles, kareena in JWM, and rani in black were fabolous. Priyanka's pic is from a performance, because none of her movies are memorible to say that she is a superstar of 200-etc. The winner is kareena. I think because JWM was great, she also did movies like Chamile, Yuva, K3G, and a lot more.

Aishwarya has won MANY MANY more awards than kareena. For example, 2 filmfare best actress awards whilst Kareena just has one. Padma shri, More Zee cine awards, IIfa, Stardust, everything....
Kareena for sure. Even with the long list of flops the girl is a pool of talent, a diva, a gorgeous girl all rolled into one. She isn't just a beautiful face thriving on a good PR team she has won more awards then ash or the rest.
