"I like heroines who are hari bhari. Chusa hua aam na lagey" - Akshay Kumar
In an interview to TOI , Akshay Kumar talks about his successes and his way of working. The actor who is on a high with the success of Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore talks about how he enjoys doing 'action' and performing his own stunts. "In my life, I have done all my stunts and I am proud to say it," he stresses. He also has a lot of praise for Sonakshi Sinha and Asin. "They are very much in tune with today's times. To me, they are not newcomers. Sonakshi is a wonderful actress who has her own style of acting. She has an absolutely different figure - a typical, Indian figure and not size zero. Khaate peete gharane ki lagti hain. I am a pure Punjabi. I like heroines who are hari bhari. Chusa hua aam na lagey," Really Akshay, Chusa hua aam? We could have even let that go but when asked for the English translation, Akshay asks, ""Will it be sucked out mangoes?". Well, you really rock in action but you need a class on idioms, Akshay!

Make sonakshi stand next to shilpa shetty or kareena or priyanka or deepika, then u'll know who's really beautiful..
I don't think Sonakshi would like being called 'hari bhari'.. and 'khaati peethi'.. for all the stuff girls say about curves.. when your pointed to fact that eat a lot, every girl blushes and hates it... wouldn't be surprised if she loses a few pounds..
he is a smartie, he is wooing his audiences it is his best marketing gimmick. He knows women struggle with weight he is very smart to please all voluptous and fat ladies who make up the majority of the theatre going audiences..now they will rush with their pati devs to make his movie a big hit. Movie goers hold grudges. Make fun of all the aunties paying tickets and dragging their kids and lazy bum husbands to the theatres and they hold grudges, they want to be pleased. Nothing pleases the viewers more than a compliment.

feminine bodies like Vidya and Sonakshi are real women bodies. The rest are all modified with PLASTICS. Hats off to Akshay for giving hope to all chubby teen girls who are not only starving and disfiguring themselves making plastic surgeons richer by the hour but fight a losing battle in a world obsessed with plastic perfection. Shame on all who make plastics role models and support it.
We need more bw stars and men like Akshay publicly criticize to stop the widespread disease of plastics and size zero propaganda and save teens from torture, struggling to fit in size zero clothes. Those who have chubby kids will understand and have empathy the rest are heartless. Hope their kids never suffer and you never watch helplessly seeing the apple of your eye suffer and want to go under the knife am sure you will end up hating all those who endorse plastics and size zero.

@Green....Katrina's body has that "femininity," which lacks in a lot of women of BW.
Sonakshi is built like a Punjabi woman, broad and chunky, that's why Akshay likes her body

And speaking of chusa hua aam, a lot of his past heroines were very thin. But I think Akshay said that to defend Sonakshi more than anything. She really isn't as skinny as the rest of the women in B-town.
