Forgotten Starlets
Hello everyone So its been like ages since I last posted here on Pinkvilla, even though I couldn’t totally stay away :) First on this list is Amisha Patel. This girl had a dream debut with Hrithik Roshan who went on to become one of the biggest stars in Bollywood. However, Amisha failed to leave a mark. I believe it was the choice of films that she made which led to her downfall. She did show potential though with films like Gadar Ek Prem Katha. 2. Aarti Chabria – This girl was mostly overshadowed by multi star casts in movies like Shaadi No 1 or Awara Paagal Deewana. Recently, she’s just been doing side roles such as in the Hit Salman Khan starrer, Partner. 3. The three girls of Mohabbatein ( Preeti Jhangiani, Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma) – Even though a dream debut with Sharukh Khan (We do realize that not everyone can be as lucky as Deepika Padukone), these girls failed to delight audience with their skin shows and obvious lack of talent post Mohabbatein. 4. Riya Sen – Omigosh this girl is so gorgeous. Apparently good looks aint everything. She did several forgetful roles in films like Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha, Qayamat and Apna Sapna Money Money. 5. Amrita Arora – sister of one of the sexiest ladies in B-town, Amrita tried her hand at Hindi films. I read an old interview of hers in which she mentioned that she was lucky to know guys like Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan and ‘twist their arms to do films with her’. Well Amrita Darling, there is a thing called talent too which is very important to become an ‘actor’.. you should google it sometime. Well these are the Top 5 in my list. Others who were easily forgotten are:

There is Sneha Ulal too, well I think Amisha did try her best, her suicide scene in Gadar when some men chase her and Sunny Deol saves her, that was one of the best scenes in Bollywood, that scene need Amisha to just react and not act , I must say she did it perfectly. She was not lucky though being talented , same has been the case with Sushmita Sen too.

I think some ppl make far cuz of look, luck and godfather! Nowadays, hardly the top actresses can act. ex. Sonam, Deepika, and Kat but I like Kat alot!

I thini Amisha is the best actor that can actually Act here. I also think Konkona is good.
i wouldn't classify these as starlets in any way sorry - they just haven't proven their acting skills in any way. i agree with anchal.arya that they are fillers and just their to boost glamour quotient. nothing more nothing less. if anyone did have potential, it was only amisha but she threw her career away by not making wise choices.
Unfortunately, talent is not everything in Bollywood. Some of these actresses really shined but were written off soon after because they have little connections with the film industry, this proves that without a Godfather you can't achieve much. Look at Anushka Sharma for example, she is successful because of Yashraj backing. She's not doing any films outside YRF banner. If these actress got such opportunities they would be popular too. Preeti is lovely, admired her most in Mohabbatein.
I don't think Ameesha is in the same league of the other actresses on the list... She made many wrong choices in her career otherwise she's a fine actress and showed true potential in Gadar, Humraaz, Ankahee, etc. I think she will bounce back with her new production company. I still have faith in her!
Rimi Sen is also a decent actress, but she had a big mouth I guess that's why she's not doing well now. The others (except for Preeti) can't act to save their lives. Dia Mirza should be in the list. Maybe even Sushmita Sen. No one remembers Sandali Sinha anymore but she made two great films (Tum Bin, Pinjar), then she got married and disappeared. Wish she had done more films, I thought she would become popular after Tum Bin but only did a few D grade films and then retired.

most of the above mentioned were their in the films just to up the glamour quotient. i dont reckon they were interested to do substantial roles.
but i do hope TMOK proves lucky for esha.
