The BEST movie of 1999 after HDDCS. Aishwarya and ARR were the best things about the film. The hero was unknown, Anil Kapoor was on a downfall (Govinda actually turned down this role and Anil dint have any offers so he had to accept) - but if the film was amazing it was due to ARR and Aishwarya. ARR's wonderful music and Ash's ethereal beauty, fabulous performance and out of this world dancing - she just carried the whole film on her shoulders and made it a hit. It was even a huge hit in the overseas. Guess Ash started capturing overseas starting from this film.

I think Shakti was just trying to say to the girl that if you have to become a big heroine, you have to sleep with people. So he was just hypnotizing her

@If the rumors about Ghai are true, then that is disgusting. I don' think Aishwarya did it, but just the fact that the man thinks he can demand sex for roles in him flop films is gross.
Well i also don't think its true, he may have lusted ash, but she was not dying for roles to give in. She had a hit with jeans in south, a mani ratnam 's movie and producer/directors were after her since the buzz she created after winning ms world.
And also, shakti kapoor in the casting couch video said- ash did it with subhash ghai, rani with yash chopra, and preeti with yash johar. So if one believes ash actually did it with subhash ghai, then one also has to believe that
rani is so cheap that she first slept with a old man like yash chopra, and now is sleeping with his son aditya chopra. , and preeti slept with someone of her uncles age- yash johar? I don't think it is the case. So his statement about ash is also false
The biggest star of Taal is A.R. Rahman and his music; when I think of Taal, his music is the first thing that comes to mind. The acting and dancing were also superb.

aishwarya looks beautiful here and in the film as well! the plot of the film was ok/meh (typical) for me but the stunning aspects of the film are the music, the setting and the cinematography. anil kapoor gave a really good performance in this film. my favourite songs in this film are taal se taal mila and kahin aag lage but i love all of them in fact. ash looks very good in all the songs especially taal se taal.
I love Aishwarya in this movie
