Her hair,
Soft curls of darkness,
Dancing as if on fire.
Her eyes,
Oceanic pools of sapphire,
Calming and intoxicating.
Her lips,
Luscious and enticing,
Stained a pomegranate red.
Her cheeks,
Flushed like a newly-wed's,
Glowing a cherry crimson.
Her skin,
Silky and radiant,
Of a tan, tender.
Her body,
Curvaceous and slender,
With an air of dignity and grace.
"The Dusky Beauty…"
This is dedicated to all those dusky girls or women - behind their computer screen right now!
As well as those beautiful, gorgeous, sexy, sweet, amazing women from Bollywood! And trust me they don't need any fairness cream! Instead we need a dusky cream, which will make our skin as perfect as them!

everybody will scream about how racist is this and every skin is beatiful in there ways as white brown or black and becouse of this tribute indian girls donot feel confedent about there own skin ..????????? how hebocrotice people u r:/

go and have some common sense first! Dusky skin is not equally accepted by everyone, unlike fair skin, this is why the tribute is to those indian beauties, who are dusky yet beautiful. Hence, dusky = not pretty is totally WRONG as some of you consider..... "fair = not pretty" was NEVER the CASE. This post is to make some of you realize tht dusky skin is as beautiful....and maybe even more beautiful with EXOTIC features...and trust me, FEATURES are more important than skin! The better features you have, the better it is for you... Discriminationg someone because of their colour in the very first place is the first big mistake any indian aunty will make.
GET IT? :@

The bottom line is that all Indian actresses are brown skinned... some less brown some more... It is in the Indian DNA!!!.. we should appreciate all skin types.. barring a few all have dusky skin. You also forgot Sushmita sen , she was so hot in Main hoo na!
MY FAVORITE...BIPS- SMITA PATEL- LARA DUTAA- AND REKHA, THE ORIGINAL BLACK BEAUTY.

lara, asin, deeps, vidya are NOT dusky!
------------
Yes they are, please dnt misinterpret the term "dusky" with "black/dark brown" I mean a skin with sligtly dark brown...
Yes, they are not the duskiest :) but they are known as dusky!
there are different types of dusky..some are duskier than each other...but they are dusky!
Please dnt confuse "dusky" with the skin of extremely "black," bcoz then I would have said "the BLACK beauties of Bollywood," for ex - Rihanna. There is a difference between Rihanna's skin and Bipasha's skin, though both are beautiful. In my pov dusky is not exactly the beautiful black/dark but just a more brown skin.
@Anon,
They are dusky :) I dnt wanna argue with u, but they are KNOWN as dusky...
similarly to the another anon,,,,who said Deepika isnt dusky! r u serious? Deepika is known as the dusky beauty!
Anyways, guys seriously, I knw u dnt like my post....u dnt knw how to appreciate it....then seriously..dnt comment and blame me!
These women aren't dusky. Yes some of them aren't fair in the Aishwarya way but they are by no means the "duskiest" of the Indian population. The day I see a woman of Nandita Das's complexion being a mainstream heroine then I will celebrate the "dusky" beauty because in the meantime Indian cinema has still not gotten over its 'fairness fetish.' Compare all of the women in the photographs above and these women:

Now proceed to tell me how many of the women in the above pics are "dusky?" That being said all of them are beautiful! But not any more so than a woman of trully "dusky" complexion.
Smita Patel, Rani Mukerji are my fav :)
lara, asin, deeps, vidya are NOT dusky!

No offense, but this such a stupid post. Half these women are not even remotely "dusky". I would never consider Asin, Sri Devi, Vidya Balan, Shilpa Shetty, or Rekha to be "dusky". They have very, very light skin. I think you're mistaking being South Indian for dusky.

Dude seriously, just shut up with ur silly comments right now! if you cant appreciate something, then at least don't misinterpret this post....or misunderstand me...with ur own freaking silly comments. Also, go and find some work, life has better things to do...if south indians are dusky....thts not something to feel embarrassed about!...tht is something to feel "PROUD" about bcoz thts the MOST gorgeous colour :) MOST - BEAUTIFUL...GET IT? now stfu.
@Sai007, Vidya Balan is dusky! see her in Kahaani! She is dusky!
@Anon...Namrata as well is dusky....i dnt knw wht u think is dusky...but in my pov....in few of her movies she looked more dusky.
@Mystic Rose - Thanks :)
@Anon - Thanks as well

@PizzaPasta :)
Thanks!
namrata shirodkar is NOT dusky. i have seen her. she is milky white complexion
asin n deepika.... luv
@ Fiza Khan
Lovely post! And I completely agree with your take on fairness creams. Right on!
Great post Fiza_Khan all the ladies mentioned above are stunning and their complexion and coloring only adds to their beauty. I love the picture you chose of Deepika, the blue scarf one, haven't seen it before and she looks gorgeous.
I heard Bipasha say in an interview that people are often surprised that shes has a lighter skintone in person and she said she prefers the dusky look and said it makes her look more beautiful. I agree with that.
Lovely post:))))) I'm a fair skinned girl but I really believe dusky shades of skin are much prettier to look at,much less harder on the eyes,& more feminine. My favourite is Rekha,Rani & Vidya while Chitrangada is über glam too.
Also, if you look at movies like Kahaani :) Vidya Balan looked pretty dusky :)

@Kitty, Thank You!
@Bipasha_Fan, I think Sridevi is not dusky at all! I have seen her without makeup pictures, she is fair...
@filmy_china, Sonam Kapoor is not dusky as well! I dunno without makeup! But with makeup...she looks pretty white...
Also, I have actually seen Vidya Balan in real (red carpet) once, and she looked REALLY dark to me. This is why!
Smita Patel leads the way as the most duskiest actress and the most talented. She is pure natural with her acting and beauty, and there is no one else can replace. The rest are wannabe especially Priyanka Chopra, the most unnatural beauty who wants to be everybody else but herself. Most of them are unhappy with in their own skins and rely on fake eyes, skin bleaching, nose and face.... I respect any actress who are proud of their skin coloring without fakeness or bleaching cream... Nutan is another actress who was one of the most beautiful actress on the india screen... Her grace and beauty lights up the screen... Rani is natural beauty with her light eyes which makes her gorgeous with her dusky complexion. The old Rekha was so gorgeous without the skin lightening, but she has the most beautiful facial structure.
The current actress are no comparison to the older actresses and are unhappy with their dusky complexion.... there is no respect for them. Look at Deepika with her color lenses... looking so fake and unnatural.
@Pinkvilla_boy Deepika can not act.
Smita Patil looks stunning!
wow!!! love this post.
Nice post.
oh let's not forget Deepika and what about stunning SONAM KAPOOR??????? She's absolutely gorgeous.
