Dabangg 2 has had an excellent opening at Rs. 21.1 crore. The film has now broken the record of the highest non-holiday opening for any film, surpassing its predecessor by a mile.

Although the occupancies for multiplexes were not that high due to business being shared amongst Khiladi 786, Talaash and in some the previous Diwali releases.
The single screens saw extraordinary collection going into record level.

The weekend breakdown is roughly 21.10 crore nett on Friday, 19.06 crore nett on Saturday and 24 crore nett on Sunday. While Saturday dipped a bit in collections, box office on Sunday was immense. The overall weekend collection came to 64 crore nett which is a record and has broken the collections of Ek Tha Tiger.

The business in the north has been affected by the cold spell but other areas will see steady or better business.

The films should benefit from the upcoming Christmas holidays until the New Year.

I feel ashamed to belong to a country where such movies do well and make money. Speaks volumes about the mind (read mindlessness) of the junta.

When will the khans retire?! Im fed up with those faces romancing with young girls. Shahrukh, salman and aamir uncles should retire and not romance on screen. Chalo salman phir bhi chal saktha hai magar shahrukh uncle needs to retire.
