She was so cute and natural on Ellen. It suddenly struck me that she and Obama have the same smile. Makes them so telegenic.

There has to be just one person writing all of the defensive, pro-freida messages. what are you, about 14 or 15? or maybe you're someone posing from her PR team. CALM DOWN. Find a pastime. As much as YOU love freida, as big-headed as she seems to be getting, she probably wouldn't care to sign an autograph for you if you jumped on her back and begged her for it. celebrity worship is NOT healthy. well this is the msot publcity freida fpinto will get because her fans are so stupid they will try to paint her as this goddess that americans love and they people who don't like her are just saying their view on her . what is so wrong with that ? there are many people who don't like aishwarya , including myself but people are just talking. i don't love or even hate freida pinto but she is just some girl trying to become an actress. there are actresses her age group that are much better than her , and she will have to compete with them. and it seems like she is falling behind. she faking an english accent isn't going to help her though. just be yourself.and maybe people won't hate you as much.

This comment makes a good point. Being from the "west" myself and not having had much exposure to Bollywood culture or films, I can't understand some of the reasons why Indians cry "traitor" at Freida Pinto. The slurs about her skin color, the comparisons to Aishwarya Rai, I don't get. But I DO know that for many people who respect actors who have worked hard, trained, and earned their success the good old-fashioned way, Freida's overnight fame seems random and excessive. It's hard to justify how many acting opportunities Freida is being offered when her popularity as a "Hollywood actress-on-the-rise" is not based on talent or skill, but rather on looks and fashion sense. If she was "discovered" and rose to fame in America as a model, it would make more sense. But not as an actress. Despite her stories of "struggling" in Bollywood before coming to Hollywood, in reality, she barely had to raise a pinky finger before getting the kinds of movie roles, paychecks and attention that truly talented actors generally spend many years going broke and getting rejected trying to achieve. So basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is that she has been handed an awful lot on a very shiny silver platter. And while it's good that she is making the most out of what luck has handed her, I know many people still question just how deserving she is of all of her good fortune because her acting certainly doesn't warrant it.

You are correct . Unlike some people*obesseive fans* you are making sense. I also think she has been handed everything to her on a silver platter. What has she done to earn so much hype ? she is just lucky . The way she tries to fake an upper class british accent and fails at it makes me laugh. I have realtives in the United Kingdom who never picked up the accent and they are not ashamed to have a strong new dehli accent. If freida had an chinese accent , people would still not care. Why the low self-esteem ? She shows that she has low self-esteem by how she fakes an accent and disses indians in the western countries. Her fans are most likely a bunch of 15-17 year old ditzy girls by the way they write their comments.

Since late 2008 I have been schooled in the Indian culture and some of it's people and sometimes not in a good way. Being from the US, or the West as you call it, I didn't have a need to look at Indian films, or Bollywood movies. All that changed when a little movie called "Slumdog Millionaire" burst on the scene and took the west by storm and pushed a cast of unknown actors on a path to stardom.

Dev Patel from England and Freida Pinto from India captivated audiences as the adult version of childhood sweethearts Jamal and Latika. Their chemistry was obvious in the interviews they gave as they promoted the film. Soon it was revealed that their relationship went beyond the cameras and I was happy for them. What I was not happy about was the venom Freida's received from her own country. They appeared to scoff at her success because it was not in an "Indian" film, or that she didn't have family connections to justify her success and that she didn't do or want to follow up Slumdog Millionaire with a Bollywood movie.

Three years and seven films later, whether her role is small or large, nothing has changed! Freida still gets the same hate......she's faking an accent, the skin color issue, how she's an "opportunist for taking the L'Oreal job, she dumped her "fiance or husband" when she became a success. What I'm learning is that Freida can't just be......be an actor that has found success in the west.....and have her country be proud of her.

Why are people freaking out? She's neither the best actress nor the most prolific but you can't deny she's doing well for someone starting out in the industry.. She is obviously being chosen for her looks and not her acting which is the same reason Katrina gets movies in Bollywood (not rocket science).

And she paid for the accent coach.. It would a waste of money if her accent hadn't changed.

For the last time , Freida Pinto is not the hightest earning indian actress/most famous or indian women in general. Indira Noyyie , CEO of Pepsi makes BILLIONS! she is in the same rich list as Bill Gates , Steve Jobs , Mark Zukerburg, Warren Buffet , Fed-X people and you are impressed by Freida Pinto ? She is still not famous in the states. Nor I have read about her in TIME or Forbes. She is not even in the Guinnes World Records for most highest paid star.The womans name does not come up as most richest/famous indian star. Aishwarya Rai is still the most famous indian star in the states. The most famous indo-american is Padma Lakshmi. Where do you get your information from ? You sound delusional and weird. To all those bleating on about the "fake" English accent, it's called perfecting her pronounciation of the language. How is that fake?? It's no different to us trying to make our Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu sound better rather than having a Western accent when we speak.

She has not starred in 7 movies you blubbering loser . She has only done maybe 5 or 4 in total. Freida is no Natalie Portman or Angelina Jolie. Natalie Portman went to Harvard, starred in Star Wars , was modling for Dior and she won an oscar before the age of 30. She acted in a movie which had the director Darren Aronosfky.Has Freida done any of that ???? i know answering questions during interviews can be awkward for actors but what is pinto talking about in the second vid when she says i had never done a movie with big costumes??? maybe she doesnt do it on purpose but somehow the way she says things she sounds like shes been acting forever....... freida! you have only done small parts in 3 or 4 movies so far stop talking like some big movie star. i wish she would just relax then maybe id like her more.
